question on TC
Hey guys
great work on this game and I love it!
quick question...I searched the manual and I am not sure if I missed it or it's not in there but.....
Is there a way to toggle the TC for ALL units on/off at once?
Sometimes when after I TC a unit(s) I'd like to reform on the commander and have to "reactivate" the AI for each unit(s) that I TC'd.
Just thought there might be a way to do this a simpler way that I am unaware of...
Thanks

Re:question on TC
Sev,
Am going to assume you are talking about SP mode. Yes, the "1" and "2" keys will toggle all units TC on and off. However, that is ALL units under your command. So, if you are a Division Commander, all your brigades and regiments will be TC'd. Think about that. There you go.

Hello severn8212,,
On Page 92 of the Manual :
The "1" key will Take Charge of the selected commander or fighting unit. This will detach the selected commander or unit from the AI command of its superior.
The "2" key will unselect the Take Charge command and return the selected commander or unit to the AI command of its superior.

Re:question on TC
I've also put in a request to have a function that will only TC the commanders under your control. So for example, you are a division commander, you press the key and all of your brigade commanders are TC'd. This would be very useful for those of us that always TC our brigades so you wouldn't have to cycle through them and TC them manually, which costs valuable time at the beginning of a game (SP or MP).
Re:question on TC
Is there a way currently to TC/Un-TC all units inside a particular brigade? (In MP)
Perhaps a button on the commander's toolbar (or a hotkey) that TCs every subordinate of THAT unit, and preferably one that works in MP.
When I'm commanding batteries I must always keep all the guns TCed when they're firing so they don't move back and forth and get tired. Then when I want to move the battery I un-TC them all so the commander can order the move.

My understanding from TC2M is that a gun must point directly at a target (flag) in order to obtain a full score for a direct hit. I believe that’s why the guns move around so much. If the target moves and the gun remains stationary (it is TC’d), resulting in hitting only a portion of a target - e.g. a few sprites at the end of a regiment - my understanding is that I receive only partial points for a partial hit.
However, I have never been able to have this confirmed or clarified by a production team member – SOWG or TC2M.
That may cause you to minimise some of the points you earn when you inflict casualties. I usually TC individual guns only when I have massed targets to shoot at and I have to tighten their formation to fit into a small space; plus, keep them from moving to a point where they block each other’s line of sight. When I'm commanding batteries I must always keep all the guns TCed when they're firing so they don't move back and forth and get tired. To further complicate this thread for you Garnier, there is a caveat as to how the #1/#2 keys function. I love those keys now that I changed their default function as outlined in the following thread.Hello severn8212,,

I actually disabled them. I kept hitting them by accident instead of the 'Q' and 'E' keys.
