Any patch due that isn't a beta?

Post by Arkley0712 »

Hi all,

I've been away from the forum for ages and have stopped playing SOW:G in the hopes that a patch would be released soon so I can properly enjoy all the scenarios I haven't yet played. The lack of effective artillery firepower was the main issue with the game as far as I can remember. Is a patch due any time soon that will fix this issue?

The artillery firepower effectiveness was fixed in one of the beta patches (I think it was patch 2). It is now up to historical levels, plus there was a bug that caused major issues that has been fixed.

I downloaded the 3.1 beta patch a couple of minutes ago and tried to run it but I get a message saying it's incompatible with Windows 7 64 bit. Are there two versions of the patch? If not, what am I doing wrong?

Only one version. Sounds like a corrupt download. After you download, try checking the file with the md5 checker. You can find it on the web. All you do is paste the md5 code into the checker and it will verify that the download is healthy or corrupt.

Hi again. I had used the wrong username/password (my own) so have got the patch to download and install now. Will let you know how it plays when I've had a few goes.

Thanks for the help.

Once we feel that we have nailed down all major bugs, we will release it officially. The reason we do beta patches is to get fixes to the players quicker and make sure we don't introduce any crazy bugs. We are close, but MP is giving us some issues. Our network library has a few issues during game setup that have caused problems. But we're close.
