OK,
Disabling the Windows Firewall did not fix my hosting problems. It still says I have to map the port. So I will try AP514's fix and I may need some help with that.
Thanks,
Greg

So sorry Greg linked the wrong article... but here is the deal...if you open the ports and set port forwarding on the Linksys router. It should work right after you do it...but as soon as you shut that computer down and fire it back up..linksys router gives it a new last 3 digit IP (if you got more than 1 Computer on the router) so you got to go into your router and what new ip it got assigned...im sure these guys herecan help with how to set a static IP for a spacific computer

Not necessarily. We have four computers at our house connecting wirelessly with the Linksys router; I have not had any problems such as those you describe (changing the last three digits of the IP address). I suspect your Router is set up for dynamic IP addresses rather than static IP addresses. I'll take a look when I get home and see if I can determine how that is fixable. So sorry Greg linked the wrong article... but here is the deal...if you open the ports and set port forwarding on the Linksys router. Re:How to Set Up a LInksys router for hosting
The procedure for the Linksys Router seems to work fine. Unfortunately SOW still doesn't. It continues to report that it can't reach the Port. Portcheck on the other hand has no problem at all. This occurs whether Windows Firewall is running or not. There is still a missing step in the whole procedure to get this game to host.
Until someone, somewhere can come up with a simple and straight forward checklist of how to get this game to work so it can be played against another person, it will stay on the expensive coaster category.
