Released - BlueGreyIcon - Mod + FiringModV2

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Marching – Thru –Georgia – is a lot better modder than I am, so on advice from him I have corrected several problems with the BlueGreyIcon Mod.

Fixed the Union Supply wagons – gave them a lighter shaded canvas.

Fixed the Blue Quad Section – on the Map Screen.

Updated the link to include the changes!

I’m going to release another set of the icons soon, I have changed several of them to get rid of the yellow, and also the red.

Commander – will be represented by the CO – blue & grey
Position marker - better looking X
Cavalry – smaller with the yellow X
Artillery – smaller with the yellow circle

I just have to redo the Map Legend .

A question on the Firing Mod V2. I've extracted it to the mods folder, selected it with the yellow square in my mods list, and moved it to the top of the list. When watching the line of men fire, there is still not smoke coming from all muskets when the men raise the musket to fire. Should there be? If so, does it conflict with any other mods that may prevent the appearance of smoke from every musket even if the other mods are lower on the priority list?

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

I’ll try to answer, and then I’ll ask a few questions!

The Mod has nothing to do with the actual smoke that is displayed when firing.

What the mod does is stop the loading, raising the weapon, lowering the weapon, and reloading the weapon before firing the musket.

So, this action may interfere with the actual timing of the smoke, I never really paid that much attention to the timing of the smoke.

Question – was the timing of the smoke ever in-sync with the actual firing of the weapon with the default settings?

No, I don't believe it was for all the men. With or without the mod, sometimes you see smoke when they fire and sometimes you don't. Can it be modded to see smoke from the musket for every musket that fires for every man?

Well, I’m not completely sure if this can be modded or not!

There is a setting in the gfx file that has something to do with the Action – this is listed as the Kill Shot – for the musket’s and the stabbing of the weapon.

I have tried different settings before, but I couldn’t tell if it actually had any positive effect on the smoke.

I’ll try to play around with it again this weekend, and get back to you on the findings, but this may be a question that only Norb, or ADukes really knows the answer too.
