... in the words of my 7 yr old grandson "Grampy, you are really bad at this game"Perhaps this post is inappropriate but I would like to ask if it is possible to post a poll asking the many members of this forum why they have not become "Multi-Players" by offering various choices such as: 1) Internet Connection is Dial-Up, 2) etc.
Intent is to determine why there are not more folks playing the MP and what can be done to encourage more MP participation.
Thanks for the consideration.

A few years back I played multiplayer of "Age of Empires" with a bunch of my Postal buddies from work. It was a total blast, mostly because of the banter back and forth. Not to brag but I usually cleaned their clocks. I have been playing ACW games on board games and computers starting in the winter of 1962. Always against The AI. I would like to play MP and see how things go. My big problem is, I'm in Southern California, that alone should disqualify me for almost anything, The time is never right for me some how . The other problem is I still have six girls home. Alot of maintenance My Boys.!!?! Right now my wife is on the other computer helping my 18 year old take tests for her driver licence. I'm answering most of their questions for them. Another one is showing me her school work , which is excellent, another is on 'time out' for inappropreate behavior on the phone with an unknown boy. Not to mention that another one is begging me to watch 'Phineas and Ferb'. So in a about 30 to 45 minutes it is bath time , brush the hair time, reading time, brush the teeth time, and then, tell the great stories from Bilbo Baggins and friends and finally lights out. So about 9 pm pacific time, I'm ready to go, if I can stay awake. If I knew in advance about a week I could schedual my time and make a big deal of it, and get some guy time. Well, there it is.
Move Forward

Brother Boles,
JJ Gordon and I are both West Coasters. I am always looking for a game in our time zone. Most of these other fine lads are east coasters or even Euro folk. Get in the lobby. I'm there in the evenings off and on. MP is great. Time to get stuck in. You have no excuse anymore.

Re:Polls
We've got quite a few custom oobs now which are really well balanced. Tonight, Friday, we played 8 (rebs) v 5 (yanks), 80,000 men or so, on Alpine. It was a rip roaring blast. The yanks (yeah us) pulled it out in a close, bloody affair..
Re:Polls
Played the heck out of TC2M, all the maps and mods, etc. Still mediocre at best. Just bought this 'finally' and been playing a bit. Would love to get into MP, as I have never tried with any game before, but due my subpar ability I wouldn't want to screw somebodies game up. If that would be an added element that no one would object to, I'd love to try it out tho!!

Re:Polls
First of all, a big thanks to Norb and team for a fantastic game :cheer: .
Also, big thanks to the talented modders who keep making this game better and better.
I most certainly will be entering the ranks of the MP community at some time soon. Unfortunately, RL committments keeps my gaming time to a frustrating minimum.
I too enjoyed TC2 a lot but my 'jump' into MP gaming with the NTW2 (thanks Lord Asram
)community ended my breif affair with ACW because I love Napoleonics a bit more and I find MP gaming more challenging and fun.
Enter SOWGB....wow, and MP too! I'm back with you guys. Its superior gameplay and realism has got me hooked on ACW again. I like to fight commanding from the saddle with restricted view, fog of war and a feeling that you are there with all the sights and sounds of battle going on around you.Only SOWGB can do all this so effectively.
I think satisfying the MP communities thirst for new maps and OOB will be important to attract players and keep this community going.
I'm hoping with time I can convince some of the fellas in our napoleonic clan (NBC) to 'broaden their horizons'
and add it to our MP play list eventually.
I must try MP first myself though, I guess

Re:Polls
Dr,
Aside from a few cranky folks, do not worry about screwing up anyones battle.
1) It is a game.
2) everyone starts somewhere.
3) Remember, a large number of ACW Generals were rank amatuers when they began the War itself.
Sweat it not, good Sir, and get stuck in!.

You can have custom OOBs we do all the time. And with the new Alpine Map It should keep ppl entertain until an map addon pack or something to that effect is released.
