Does anyone here do Civil War reenacting? Would it be possible somehow at some Civil War events to set up a booth where people can see this game? That seems like a logical and good way to advertise for this game once it is out.
Well I am not directly involved in reenacting but I live in Gettysburg so do know alot of reenactors and shop owners.

With the July 1-3 reenactments coming up in 3 months I could talk to a few people about setting up a demo or display table for the game.Maybe record some videos of game play and use my PC to loop them so people could see it in action.

I can talk to them and see if we can come up with anything.

I added a new thread about this game last week on the 3rd of April on AGEOD's American Civil War website and as of today, it had 200 views. :) :)

I hope some of these views have turned into new members and game purchases for Norb !!!!

:) :)

As of today 5/18/10, the views on this Thread are up to 580 !!!!!! :woohoo:

This had to turn into sales !!!

Thank you so much! It's all well and good for the game team to spread the word, but when someone playing the game does it, it really carries a lot more weight.

I do civil war reenacting, and I'm currently in the 11th NC. I will look at the next big even we go to and i will bring a labtop with me and show as many reenactors i can in camp about the game. Hopefully i could get some people to buy it. With that being said...what i really would like to do is set up a small viewing area at our FORT MACON event we host about 3 times a year. The fort is right near the ocean and alot of young people come and watch us do our living history.
It is a very good spot to show the game off since its really condense to a small area. Ill see what i can do....

Made a thread on the something awful games forums about it, seems to be getting some replies and at least one purchase so far. I'll keep everyone updated about reactions

This is awesome guys! Thank you so much. We are looking to start our advertising campaign soon. We wanted to get some review quotes in there and a few are out now. It takes a while to get something in print, but they are coming along.

The sooner the better, as far as advertising goes I think. I've seen a couple reactions from people who played the hell out of the old games but missed this one (probably due to the new title/website).

Also someone with an account on the paradox forums might want to plug this game over there, since they published the last one and it's basically all wargamers there.

edit: SomethingAwful thread, if anyone wants to follow. It may require membership to view though (10 bucks).

If anyone who worked on the game wants to post there I imagine that could stir up some interest. It's a huge forum and I think there are a lot of historical wargamers there.

Norb, with the full 1.10 patch released you should let Tech Report know. They seem to list any game patch (beta or not) in their daily updates.

I believe it's Ronald Hanaki who does the daily news updates.
