For all NEW mp players

Hi.

There is one thing I strongly suggest you do when entering an mp game and that is take command (TC) of your commanders.

I haven't been doing that, and I was wondering why my men were preforming so poorly, and when the good people I was playing with told me to TC my commanders, it was too late, I was slaughtered like a new born lamb, not to mention the heavy cost that my teammates had to endure because of my ignorance.

I have been playing all day not doing this, and my teammates, and myself have paid the price.

Yeah sure I looked like a fool, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, I sure won't make that mistake again.

Also, I'm going back to brush up on my game because I really, without question, need the heart pounding, and kick me between the legs practice.

Well I joined in two games this evening. First one was easy, the second, there was just too many rebs.

Hey thank you, I had to get my girls down to sleep on the second game, so I wasn't at the helm for most of it. Sorry. Multiplayer is the most exciting way to play. I don't want to let any one down on my side. So I'll pick better times in the future.

Yes take command of your commanders, that is a smart thing to do.

One word of advice in MP games, play as a team.

Communicate, communicate, communicate. ( I cannot stress that enough)

You cannot have 1 division attack while 2 other divisions play defense.

You need to all be on the same page, if you hold a VP site, play defense, if you do not, you must play offense. If no VP sites are available, looks like it will be a race to get the best ground!

Lastly...if you play as federals...please...please don't engage in melee with the rebs...there's no point. 1 reb regiment will easily route 3 federal regiments of equal or lesser experience. If the rebs get too close, fall back or do a quick retreat. I only know these tactics because I always play as the federals.

It was great having you online. If you were looking after the right flank, then it was me you were kicking around, and I mean you were kicking pretty hard.

Good thing Seal was looking after me, because I would have crumbled totally.

That was a whole lot of fun. It just seemed you guys had twice as many men out there. I haven't quite mastered the communication part of it yet. I wanted to ask for help with a few more regiments but in looking over to the left side my C O didn't have the man power. The artillary did a great job.

It was allot of fun. Tell you the truth I didn't notice, all I was concerned about is how badly you were kicking me around, which leads to communication. I'm still trying to figure that one out. I have a tendency to not read anything, my attention is set more on what is happening on the field. I have to work on that aspect of gameplay.

I was trying to setup before your arty unlimbered, unfortunately for me you beat me too the punch. The arty really did damage, something I have to remember not to ever go near, or for that matter try to out race to a location...it's was just murder out there.

Is there a chat button or key that will send only team member messages?

Hope to see you online....I completely enjoyed the game, and the rebs lost the battle. Poor seal had me on his team. :laugh:

There is only one chat button for now. It is the X key. It is game wide. I believe there is a plan to set up a chat button for each side in the future. Norb?Team will most likely weigh in on this, I'm sure.

Never heard of that idea, but it's a good one.. I'll put in a request for it.
