1:10 mod

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

1:10 mod

Post by Gunfreak »

The one and only thing I miss from TC, is the ability to play full battles, to be Grant at Shiloh ect.

But this is not possible with the 1:4 sprite ratio, but with the old school 1:10 you might be able to have a modest ACW battle.

So have anybody made this kind of mod yet?

I remember that someone requested to lower the sprites a while back (think it was Jubal Early) and modders walked him through how to do that. I'm sure it's just editing the csv files, but I'm not sure which one(s). Anyone else want to chime in?

Edit: Heree's the thread that Jubal Early opened.

I'm thinking it's just the scenario config file needed to edit:

[MenPerSprite]
Inf=10
Art=15
Cav=10

Then it's just a matter of assembling a big battle OOB...then the scenario as normal, no adjusted columns or such that I know of. Regiments will just look puny.

I'm going the other route, 1:1 scale...adjustments big time.

Did some testing at SR10 (sprite ratio 1:10), and it appears to work flawlessly. So, bigger battles, with more units displayed, should be possible without stressing performance levels as compared to SR4 (game default).

Reason: fixed a goof sprite

So recreating TC2M sized battles is trivial. Does modding the sandbox ini allow for 1:10 random battles?
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Should have mentioned that...Nope, could not get Sandbox to work with sprite ratio changes.

Definitely. It would make larger battles more interesting on the 2.5 mile maps.

Any Team Member – what did Norb say about adding this feature into the Open Play part of the game?

Is it an easy fix, or is this going to be complicated to input at this stage of the game?

Thanks,

davinci
The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!

Haven't asked yet. He's been very busy with other stuff lately. I'll put in the request in our tracking system now so I don't forget.
