Scenario # 20

Post by NavyJake »

Guys I must admit that this one has me a little bamboozled....

I have attempted this scenario a couple of times and the closest I can get to the required points is 6000 with 7500 being required to achieve a Major Victory.

I tried it the first couple of times playing in a defensive posture, well that didn’t work…
I have tried it as an all out attack, not a confederate regiment left on the field…

So I’m not sure what I’m missing?? Do I have to capture Longstreet himself???
Advise and assisted requested.

Make sure you have enough troops and a commander at the VP the entire time. As I recall the radius is fairly small.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

No doubt, I plant one Regiment there the entire time, unless the number required changes I'm in control of the VP from 1 minute on.

Points are 25 until about the 30 minute mark where it moves to 100. I'm not a math wizard but that doesn't add up to to close what is required.... I though maybe there was a requirement to kill all the Reb units or something?

You do have to defeat the rebs, but you don't have to wipe them out. As I recall, I assumed a defensive posture and counterattacked at the appropriate time, first against the enemy coming from the east, and then, once the attack from the south lost momentum, counterattacked there too. I also seem to remember supporting the troops on Little Round Top. It's been a while since I played this, but I remember this just being a straight-up fight that did not require any fancy maneuvering.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Thanks, I'll give that I try also, haven't engaged at either LRT or the Northern forces, as the units in the area seem to do pretty well against those attacks.
