Hi.
Just finished tinkering with Empire Total War Civil War mod, and I have to say it's pretty cool little mod but after playing a 1vs1, I walked away feeling empty.
Whenever I see anything that has something to do with the American Civilwar I am drawn too it like <well you know>, so I wanted to give it a test drive, and on a scale from 1 to 10, I come away giving the Civilwar Mod a 2.5. A game has to just not entertain me, it has to make me feel something, and this game I think overall won't make me feel anything other than empty.
Now Scourge of War Gettysburg not only entertains me, but makes me feel like I am accomplishing something, and I mean I haven't played a game that has ever made me feel as satisfied, and also has made me sit in one spot bewildered, and leaving me scratching my head trying to figure out what the hell just happened. For instance, The Devil's Den scenario has caused me so much grief, but after losing allot of sleep, I finally walked away defeating the rebs, and I had to go and get a shower because I sweated so bloody much. I know it's a sad thing to be satisfied over a game, but that's life.
well, I have to give SOW a 10, and 2 more points for when my heart starts pounding when I see an enemy formation approaching my position. I can't explain it, but the adrenalin rush I get from the battles is really cool.
Anyone else out there play this mod for Empire total War? I like to know what you think of it.
As far as the scenarios in Empire Totalwar, and the grand campaign I can't really say at the moment, I haven't had the time, I'm still playing Scourge of War Gettysburg.
Cheers guys, ladies.

Re: Empire Totalwar & Civilwar Mod
I haven't tried that mod and probably won't since it's the same game, but with ACW graphics. ETW is excellent for it's graphics and the campaign aspect, but as far as the AI and tactical combat, it falls way short. But again, ETW has it's place and is a really fun game (if you like the "arcade" feel of the battles, and don't mind the occasional crashes)
And I'm glad you like SOWGB that much.. It's not sad to be that satisfied about a game.. Were all gamers here, it's a big part of our lives.

I did enjoy the graphics, and the arcade feel of the battle left me somewhat empty. As far as the Campaign is concerned, I haven't had the time to get into it because my next door neighbor owns the game.
Tell me, I know she will sell me her game, but how much do you think I should offer for it if I decide to purchase it?
I just can't get enough of the game LP.And I'm glad you like SOWGB that much.. It's not sad to be that satisfied about a game.. Were all gamers here, it's a big part of our lives.

Cheers, and take care Little Powell.

Well it's up to you what you offer but if it were me, here's what I'd suggest. It goes for $20 bucks new on Amazon. It depends on the condition of the disk, if it's in perfect condition, I'd offer $15. If it has a little wear, missing manual or anything, $10.
