Regimental History of the 71st Pennsylvania

Post by Paul71stPVI »

As is obvious from my profile and all, I'm a reenactor with the 71st Pennsylvania, aka California Regiment. I'm also a recent college grad with a history degree, and consideing how attached I've become to the regiment I portray, my final senior thesis I wrote on the history of my regiment. We're a pretty unique outfit - we were formed and led in combat by the only sitting U.S. Senator to be killed in battle, and we stood in the center of the Union line at the Angle at Gettysburg. Considering how we're really all amateur historians on here, I figured I'd share it with you fine folks. (And, if you're not all for that reading thing, it does have some pretty pictures :P ) Enjoy.
