Features Patch?
Re: Features Patch?
No issues and we would rather people ask and understand our position on this then be kept wondering.
Re: Features Patch?
Thank you for accepting my apology on the mis-understanding of my post. I'm trying my best to get you more customers, for this, the greatest of all Civil War games. This game has got me back into my passion of reading all I can about the conflict, and for that, I thank you. I believe you have touched many peoples lives unknowingly with this program.

Re: Features Patch?
Hi Norb! Please understand that there is just no way for us to keep doing this and funding this effort if we give away everything for free. We will be putting in 100's if not 1000's of man hours in doing a free patch for the existing game, time we could spend putting together an expansion pack that we could charge for. The content on the CD and the manual is why the CD costs more money. I understand that everyone always wants everything for free, we feel that we do give away a lot in our patches to our existing customers. But we do have to draw a line at some point. We very carefully consider and plan what will go into our patches and what will go in expansions, and what people are paying for. Of course you have every right to askBut please understand our reasons for our decision on this.
Never a problem, I'm just happy to have the game (suck up time)!
All I can ask for that you please never have the game, and it's excellent material ever to be only made available on steam...that would be a real hard kick to the bean bags....so I ask, please don't kick me there.
later Norb, and excellent work as always...

Re: Features Patch?
It would be great to be on Steam because of the exposure. But I agree that it shouldn't be the only means of obtaining the game. Norb has always said that he won't put all of the eggs in one basket.Hi Norb! Please understand that there is just no way for us to keep doing this and funding this effort if we give away everything for free. Re: Features Patch?
Steam does not like me for some reason. We have tried to contact them multiple times and they have ignored every single request. I had thought they supported indie development, but it looks like there are other criteria that we don't meet. I had spoken to them before, a while back, and was looking at their sdk. But now we have somehow been blacklisted, which I don't understand.
As a developer in this business, they expect you to just take what you can get. I know that's a little cryptic. They want you to be happy to take what ever deal, what ever money, and just keep smiling as you are getting the shaft. I've never been able to keep my mouth shut when I see something that is not right, unjust. So maybe it's my big mouth they are scared of
Although I do not think I have specifically come out and slammed a company, I have always given enough clues to connect the dots. My dissatisfaction with publishers is well known, so all I can assume by their lack of response is that they are gun shy. I know they have plenty of indie games listed, they put up TC2M without even testing it. So it only leaves room for guessing as to why they have not contacted us back about listing SOWGB on Steam.

There could many reasons why they would ignore any company, but I may know why (to some degree), and if that is the reason for their dysfunctional behaviour it only gives me more of a reason why to stay away from them. There are many more ways to get the game out in the market, and Steam to me is not the beginning or the end (well perhaps the end to gaming would be more of a proper description). I'm doing what I can to get the game out there by having you listed on my website, and forum. people I speak too know about it, my wife definately knows about it (she calls it my mistress), so all i can do will help out, mind you you won't make millions from it, but every penny counts.
Sorry if I sound angry about Steam, it's always been a very sore spot with me. So you don't need to slam them Norb, I will do it free of charge.
Cheers...

Re: Features Patch?
Screw Steam. Not worthwhile to worry about. I've heard many more negatives about them to stay away from products on their site.

Re: Features Patch?
I really hate having to have it run all the time to play the games. But at least they now have an offline mode, where you still have to run their app, but you don't have to connect to their site. It's a consolation. I've heard good and bad which makes them no different than anyone else. So if they ever contact us, we'll see if we can work with them. But no one should worry, because we will never put all our eggs in one basket.
Re: Features Patch?
Well, if it helps to get this product out to many others, then I'm all for it.:cheer: I just wouldn't want any negatives about this game because of anything on their end of it. Expand, by all means available. There are many lost souls out there looking for an experience such as this.
