can someone make a sprite for me?.....Please!!!

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to make me a confederate general and soldier whose uniforms were completely butternut colored? I would really appreciate it!:)

Fetcher – Welcome to the community!

Basically, you may not be aware of this, but what you are asking is sort of like asking someone to paint your house with a small one inch brush!

Making a uniform takes a lot of time, and there are only a very small handful of members that even know how!

To really understand what this involves, would be for you to take one of the uniforms in the game and just change something simple, such as the color of a shirt, or pants.

There is really not a how-to-do-it learning process that can be explained, in a very simple manner. I’ve been around here for the past two games, and I wouldn’t dare try making a uniform from scratch!

If you own the old game, that game has a butternut uniform that is already made, and I doubt that another one can be made, that looks that much better.

The conversion from the old game into this game is fairly simple!

If you own a program such as Photoshop , you will have the ability to edit the existing uniforms, but I’m under the impression that it takes a more expensive program to make the uniforms.

Hey Davinci....Thanks for the welcome!
I didn't really expect anyone to make sprites from scratch, I was trying to get a sprite like the one in my picture but fully butternut color instead of gray. Would this still take alot of time to do?....by the way, thank you so much for taking time to answer my question.:)

Sure, you can re-color that sprite you like, however, I just did a quick count of frames, and we're talking over 900 frames. So, if your fast, say 1 minute per frame, you're looking at 15 hours of coloring, then another couple of hours fixing them within the files. Unless someone knows a quicker procedure...

Anyway, welcome aboard, you are indeed a gentleman...Sir. :) Bet if keep buggin' him, Davinci will find a way to get you your Butternut Reb. ;)

RebBugler – where have you been hiding lately, Have you been working on another mod?

Hey, I have a question – how hard would it be for me to make one of your flags, that is sort of folding downward, you know instead of flying straight…sort of…drooping like ?

Fetcher - Here are a few pictures of the Butternut from the previous game that Norb did!

Is this close to what you want?

Hey D

Yeah, a drooping flag effect would be nice, my efforts have fallen short of an adequate rep. and I've worked a lot on some ideas. If you need any of my graphics, without staffs for example, just holler...but on another thread...

And now, back to Butternut Sprites, sorry about the interruption...:side:

Well, that is not good news, if you have tried it and didn’t come up with a solution; I really doubt that I could!

Thanks for the response back on this!

Hey Davinci....first off I am amazed at how nice everyone is and how willing evryone is to help everyone else!...It means alot to me. To answer your question....yea, I like the color of butternut in your picture, but i was thinking of that color on the sprite in my picture because I like the look of that particular uniform.

Well in that case you would have to expand the following directory:

NorbSoftDev \ Scourge of War \ Base \ Graphics \ Units

Then locate the following two Sprites
CSA_H_02 – ( there should be approximately 35 of them )
Or the…
CSA_H_03 – ( Also, 35 of them )

Use a program such as… Photoshop – and only edit the color of the pants.

Now, this might appear pretty simple, but once you start editing them, you will see exactly what is required when making such a simple change.
