Names of the Commanders in the scenario list
Names of the Commanders in the scenario list
The Commanders are very hard to find in the scenario lists. You could apply a different color to Corp, divison, bridage commanders or center them in the lists in the next upgrade ?

Don't understand "scenario lists", are you referring to the Sandbox OOB lists?

What I should have said "is the list that comes up when you want to send a courier message. All of the commanders are stuck somewhere in the list, and you have to search to find the commander that you want to sned your orders.

Agreed, or have (div - brig- corps) etc after or before their name.
Out of curiosity, if you order a unit by courier to join up on the left flank of a commander, does it go to the left of the actual commander, or his furthest left unit?

I would have to check to make sure but I'm 99% sure it goes to the left of the commander.Agreed, or have (div - brig- corps) etc after or before their name.

I agree it would be good to have div - brig - corps after the name. It would be helpful to have this in the commander selection screen in Sandbox/MP as well. To get these to show up, it would involve adding that to the end of the commanders name in the OOB files. Only thing is this would show up on the toolbar as well so that would be kind of ugly. All generals names on the toolbar would be "General A Smith - Div". So we'd have to figure out another way to do it.

yep, and any battlefield promotions would lead to errors.

Re: Names of the Commanders in the scenario list
LP, I'm curious on whether there's a fix here. I saw this problem while testing my SR1 OOB for sandbox. You see only the regimental officer's names, not the unit name...so no 1st Virginia e.g. Can't add the unit to the officers name, or that messes up the toolbar structure...AarrggI would have to check to make sure but I'm 99% sure it goes to the left of the commander.Agreed, or have (div - brig- corps) etc after or before their name.

Re: Names of the Commanders in the scenario list
Just did some testing, if ordered to the right flank of a commander, the unit goes to the right flank of that commander, facing same direction as him. So if ordering a unit to right flank of a formation, make sure you know the furthest right flank unit in the formation!I would have to check to make sure but I'm 99% sure it goes to the left of the commander.Agreed, or have (div - brig- corps) etc after or before their name.

Re: Names of the Commanders in the scenario list
Yeah it may involve adding an extra column in the master OOBs. So whatever name goes in this column will show up in commander selection screens, courier screen etc., but won't show up on the toolbar. Definitely worth submitting a request for.LP, I'm curious on whether there's a fix here. I saw this problem while testing my SR1 OOB for sandbox.
