Re: Adding Trees...
D,
Okay - possible final Fog settings:
FogEnable=1
FogR=60
FogG=65
FogB=70
FogNear=200
FogFar=16500
Since all my battles start at 0500 hours, fog in the morning is perfect.
Enemy troops are barely visible at 450 yards as indistinct blobs.
Enemy troops are visible as troop blocks at 400 yards.
Flags and troop outlines are visible at 300 yards.
Distinct troop types at 250 yards.
Just gotta love this game. Cavalry or other scouts are now vital because surprise by the AI can be devastating. If you really want to brush up on your reaction time as a commander, put this mod in and play with the settings. Take my word for it, surprise sucks.

Davinci,Chamberlain – So, how is it going in the Big Apple , you are still in New York, correct?
I see that you are enjoying being on the team testing out all of the new features, before they are released!
Keep up the Excellent Work!

Yes, I see that Mother Nature has been wreaking havoc on the northern states this year! We have had it pretty light here, but in the south, we mostly just get ice, and ice probably causes more damage pertaining to driving than the snow would have.Yep, still in NY.... Jack – I tried out your settings, but I’m trying to get something that resembles these pictures, here!
I would like the fog to be sort of around the camera area, and just ahead of the camera I still want to see the shapes of the troops with a light fog around them.
To the left, right, and rear, probably about several hundred yards, but slightly misty!
This way, the light will still show in-between the trees, which would give a glimpse of any soldiers that were moving there!
This is panning the camera left, right, and to the rear of current position!

D,
Will play around with them and get back. Am actually thinking we may have to pull the fog in to almost zero from the camera to get the effect.

Re: Adding Trees...
D,
Don't think it's possible to get the effect you want. Pulled the fog back to "1" but it isn't in close enough. Dosen't give any kind of "swirling" effect. I did lighten it up some. Looks better at a distance. Am playing now with FogNear=100. Seems the best effect. Good Lucl.

Jack – I have a light fog around the camera, but I think that the FogFar – has more control over that than the FogNear does.
I have the FogNear set at -1500 , I really can’t tell you if a negative value works, but when do I ever follow instructions, or the correct protocol.
Hey , this just occurred to me, if we are setting the fog values, then the draw distance can also be lowered, which should slightly increase the FPS.
Why, draw objects that are hidden from view, due to the fog!
This is the current setup that I have, but I’m still searching for the lightest fog possible that doesn’t affect the game-play, or the FPS.
Hey - it would be cool if the fog did move, but then again, does the fog move in real life - I have never really cared to notice it, before!
;Fog
FogEnable=1
FogR=78
FogG=75
FogB=76
FogNear=-1500
FogFar=12000

D,
Changing the FogNear to -1500 seems to have done the trick. Fog seems to be very much up close and personal to the troops. Will run a game and advise.

Re: Adding Trees...
D,
Yes! That did it. At -1500 the fog is right on top of the troops. Fought and got whipped by the Damned Red Flags, (Nod to RB), in fog so thick I couldn't see My own Cavalry some 100 yards ahead. It was really cool to see them disappear into the gloom, almost immediately, as they rode off to scout.
