The files we're talking about are log files for testing, you won't have them unless you intentionally turn them on, so it's nothing to worry about.

I'm having the same problem now. I have been trying to play with my brother, but to no avail. Once the game starts we can't move troops. We can chat and everything, but troops will not move. Any advice?

In our testing we have inadvertantly found a way to pause an MP game... If someone minimizes the app, then the game will pause for everyone and appear to be hung. But what's happening is that everyone is waiting for packets, so it pauses. I wonder if that's what's going on.
I tried some tests to stop the pause, didn't make much headway, but I wonder if I could at least send a message so that people know what's going on.

We've known about that all along, we always check that everyone is still in game.
This only happens for people who have fullscreen mode on of course.

If you could have it broadcast a message saying who it is waiting for, when it does wait for packets like that, that would be excellent. It may also show who is causing the other pauses that we get. I don't expect it's always the same person, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's one game having issues each time. Sometimes it starts going again after a player quits, but we never know who needs to quit.
I've set up the GCM Launcher to automatically turn off mods and turn on MP logging. Players can then click to send in their log, which will put it on the website, and the logs for each battle will be available on a page like this.

That will be perfect, thank you. I suspect that we'll have to go through this a few times to narrow down where the problem is. Usually I don't have all the logging enabled because it's just too much. So as I narrow down the cause and release more patches, we'll be able to hone in on where it's occurring.
We have been playing our 4-5 player games with no problems at all during our testing, so we just have to figure out what's happening that's different than our games.

OK here you go, we just had that game pause about half an hour in.
Log files.
The logs all end with "14410288,WAITING,3419,Shaka,16,9,8", so I assume it was waiting for Shaka, but he was in game, not alt tabbed, and he was chatting to us, we could see his chat and he saw ours. We were also in teamspeak and able to talk, so he hadn't lost his internet connection.

Can you get Shaka's, his would be the most important in this case and probably the only one that differs.
