You could have better performance on Windows 7 because most Windows 7 PC's are going to be newer and be 64 bit. XP can only handle 32 bit (unless you have the 64 bit version.. who actually has that?) so it's max ram will be 4 gigs, while Windows 7 can hold up to 8 gigs of ram or more.

Okay thanks. So since win7 allows full use of the memory then that should actually speed up the game a bit shouldn't it?

Theoretically true. But, AFAIK, there is no game in the universe that uses more than 2 gigs of RAM. Part of the reason maybe the huge number of players that still use old faithful Windows XP (like meYou could have better performance on Windows 7 because most Windows 7 PC's are going to be newer and be 64 bit. That's a bit similar to multi-core CPUs - pratically no game uses them
My desktop has Windows XP, 4 gig RAM and a Dual core CPU; I notice no difference between it and my newer laptop, with Windows 7 64bits, icore7 CPU, etc.
