Mod Help

Post by Sharpe55 »

hey guys,

I've been having trouble getting any of the mods i've downloaded to work (ex: garnier's minimap, blood mod, better musket sounds, terrain, etc). I'm not the most computer literate person but I believe I did what Little Powell has said to do in other threads. I download the file, put it in the mods folder, and then extract it. When I'm in the game i go to the mod screen and select the mods I want (a yellow bar appears to the left) and select ok. However, nothing changes in game.

Do some of these mods only work in MP (which I haven't had time to try yet)? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have them installed correctly if they are available to activate in the game. Are you trying to use those mods in the historic scenarios? Keep in mind mods only work in Sandbox, user made scenarios, and MP. I believe all of those mods will work in MP.

Adding to what Little Powell said,

It may just be the wording that you just used, but the correct procedure would go like this...

1)Download File to Desktop
2)Extract File onto Desktop
3)Place the Mod into the Mods Folder

It appears from your wording that you are placing the whole file into the Mods folder before extracting it!

OK I think my problem was that I wasn't playing mp, user scenarios/sandbox. Next time I play I'll give one of them a try. If it still doesn't work I'll redownload the mods as I believe I did not extract the file before putting the file into the mod folder.

Thanks for the replies! You guys have been very quick and helpful at answering my questions!

I tried a sandbox battle and still no luck. I did what Davinci suggested as well and that didn't work either. Should I just try redownloading them completely?

Hey, what is the name of the program that you are using to extract the files?

Almost all of the downloads are compatibile with the WinRar Program!

Hi.

I agree with Garnier, and the rest Winrar is the way to go.

Link to download Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

Later.
