Unit status: lost

Post by fluke »

hi,
after a nice battle i dumped the game-db and found in that an enemy officer with the status LOST. is it similar to DECEASED or CAPTURED? or is he deserted, has been wounded or something else?

regards,
fluke

I believe that I use that for a fully routed unit that runs off the map.

I have never seen an Officer leave the field that I’m aware of, would this happen only in the event of the officer losing all of his regiments?

Other-wise – who would control the remaining regiments that were under his command?

To elaborate on what Norb said...when a commander loses all his units, routed or captured, he disappears, literally, and is then labeled as 'Lost' in the COC screen.

yes, that's the answer. the mentioned officer commanded two brigades, one was captured and the other routed completely, so he disappeared, too.

thanks everybody.

Fear not, it was just a fluke!

Sometimes while in the middle of a large battle I don't pay close enough attention and several of my regiments will drop down to approx. 166 men, this seems to be place them in a routing stage, so off they go.

I try to catch this before it happens and will retreat a unit once it reaches something like 180 men, I'll just detach that unit from the brigade and send them back far away from the battle line.

I can't remember which csv file controls this, but once they reach a certain percentage of casualties they will rout.

In general, units rout when they lose more then 50% of their original strength.
