Installing modded obs

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Adding an OOB is easy. Create a folder with some name such as "My OOBs", without the ""
Next create another folder inside the one you just made named "OOBs" It has to be named exactly as I have written it, without the "" of course.
Now put the folder, "My OOBs" into your Mods folder.
Start the game, go to the Modifications screen and select your mod.

Remember that the name of an OOB made for sandbox play must start with "OOB_SB_" Otherwise it will not show up in the list.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Quick question. I have made a few OOBs and have them appearing in the sandbox selection but the problem I am having is that the troops have 0 ammo count.

I double checked the OOB, used the excellent auto OOB generator and made sure the troops had at least 60 ammo. I have even imported an OOB without any modification at all, just a renaming and still 0 ammo once the map loads.

No matter what parameters I set for sandbox any OOB I try to use that has been modified the troops have 0 ammo.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix it?

Check to see that the OOB’s have the new added L Column, named OOBMOD.

Also – the ammo should now be in the O Column.

Almost positive game will crash if the column is left out. Haven't heard of this issue before, please attach a problem OOB_SB so we can look at it.

All you have to do is copy the OOB_SB_Div from the SDK folder to the MODS folder. Create a sandbox game and your troops have no ammo. Game runs fine with no crash.

Attached is a file I was using and double checked this morning and if you load it into a sandbox game the no ammo situation appears.

I just checked this OOB in the game and it works fine for me.. Troops have 60 ammo, arty 120.

Do the stock OOBs have this problem as well or is it only modded OOBs?

One minor issue I found is that you had 1's and 2's in the OOBMOD column. This column should be left blank. That shouldn't have an effect on ammo though (didn't for me) but just wanted to point it out.

If I disable the mods and use stock OOBs then everyone has ammo. It seems any OOB from a mod folder gives zero ammo.

And just to confirm, you're mod structure is like this:

Game Directory\Mods\Your OOB Mod\OOBs\oob_sb_yours.csv

I'm trying to think of what else could cause this.. I can't think of any other mods you could have enabled that would effect ammo.. It's such a strange issue, I almost want to think it's a corrupt install of the game.

Can you please post a saved game showing the issue. Just start up a SB game using that same OOB you have attached, save the game (it will be found in your Work\Saved Games folder), zip it up, and attach it to the forum.

Try disabling all your mods, then turn them on one at a time testing each time you enable one. This should show you which mod you have is causing your problem.
