This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.
Edit Post - Changed the first two pictures - figured out another way of adding grass\weeds.
The last three are using the games default texture files to blend two different colors' together.

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!
These look cool Davinci, especially the last one.
Do they represent weeds?
They aren't any crop I'm familiar with, or the standard, oat, corn, wheat sprites that we shipped with the game (the only crops at G'burg btw).
Using weeds would be cool except for that ever present ram hit.

bedbug – when I mentioned above that I was using the default game files, I meant the terrain files inside of the LSL file.
The first two pictures are the field_wheat – only cropped onto the standard wheat file, this is why is shows a mixture of green and brown.
The last three pictures are the same cropped file using the darkgrass and another one using the lightgrass terrain files. Then using the mapname csv file to change their appearance, by changing the way that they load in the game.
Such as – changing the appearance of three fields…by switching around the wheat files…
This gives the fields a slightly different look from each other to break away from the each field looks identical.
The fps are basically the same as the default game considering that you are not adding anything new, only replacing an existing field with another one.
Damned Black Hat – Thanks, for the comment!

I F-ing hate you. You know that, don't you. Now I've got to change my damned fields so they look this cool, too. Bastard! BTW, still digging the fog mod we whipped up.

Chamberlain – how have you been, and how is everything going in the big city of New York?
Jack ONeill – what's new in your camp, hey hopefully we will get our hands on a new blank map within time!
I think that I expose all this just to see what he'll do with it Always a better job than myself.
I don’t think that I can come anywhere close to your level of expertise, I bet that you were once a great modder, before turning your skills towards programming!
