Add some buglers in there will ya. So we can raise the moral of the men marching. And it would make my ear feel good inside these headphones!

.....and;
-Occassional Rebel yells - Yankee Huzzahs during charges the intensity depending on morale,
-ricochetting bullets when near boulders, trees, structures, etc.,
-the occassional bullet impact 'thumps' hitting soldiers as they fall when viewing at ground level,
-whizzing sounds of flying minies,
-very occassional coyote howls during some night scenes either when marching and/or when there is no action - don't over do it - coyotes are typically timid animals,
-Commanders shouting 'real' orders either TC'd or AI'd like:
'wheel left', 'fall back, 'advance', 'fire by volley, 'retreat', 'pour it into em boys' and such,
-moans from the wounded,
-whaling gasps from wounded dying horses,
-galloping sounds of riderless horses fleeing the battlefield,
-drum 'n flute marching tunes aka CW era louder when zoomed into,
-when viewing exploding shells at extremely close range, add a little camera vibration and an instant of blinding light along with the boom to emulate a concusion effect,
-The sound of flies buzzing around the fallen again only when viewing at ground level,
-The subtle sound of clanking canteens and other hardware when marching

Vonviper, can you get all these here action items done in a couple days??

And Dixie!
and;
Bonnie Blue Flag
We are a band of brothers and native to the soil,
Fighting for the property we gained by honest toil;
And when our rights were threatened, the cry rose near and far,
"Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star!"

Hurrah! Hurrah! For Southern rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

As long as the Union was faithful to her trust,
Like friends and like brothers both kind were we and just;
But now, when Northern treachery attempts our rights to mar,
We hoist on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah! Hurrah! For Southern rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

First gallant South Carolina nobly made the stand,
Then came Alabama, who took her by the hand;
Next quickly Mississippi, Georgia and Florida,
All raised on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah! Hurrah! For Southern rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Ye men of valor, gather round the banner of the right,
Texas and fair Louisiana join us in the fight;
Davis, our loved president, and Stephens statesman are,
Now rally round the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah! Hurrah! For Southern rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

And here's to old Virginia, the Old Dominion State,
Who with the young Confederacy at length has linked her fate;
Impelled by her example, now other states prepare,
To hoist on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah! Hurrah! For Southern rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Then cheer, boys, cheer, raise the joyous shout,
For Arkansas and North Carolina now have both gone out;
And let another rousing cheer for Tennessee be given,
The single star of the Bonnie Blue Flag has grown to be eleven.

Hurrah! Hurrah! For Southern rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Then here's to our Confederacy, strong are we and brave,
Like patriots of old we'll fight our heritage to save;
And rather than submit to shame, to die we would prefer,
So cheer for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah! Hurrah! For Southern rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

OR

Battle Cry of Freedom
Yes, we'll rally round the flag, boys, we'll rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom,
We will rally from the hillside, we'll gather from the plain,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

The Union forever! Hurrah, boys, hurrah!
Down with the traitors, up with the stars;
While we rally round the flag, boys, rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

We are springing to the call of our brothers gone before,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
And we'll fill our vacant ranks with a million free men more,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

The Union forever! Hurrah, boys, hurrah!
Down with the traitors, up with the stars;
While we rally round the flag, boys, rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

We will welcome to our numbers the loyal, true and brave,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
And although they may be poor, not a man shall be a slave,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

The Union forever! Hurrah, boys, hurrah!
Down with the traitors, up with the stars;
While we rally round the flag, boys, rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

So we're springing to the call from the East and from the West,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
And we'll hurl the rebel crew from the land we love best,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

The Union forever! Hurrah, boys, hurrah!
Down with the traitors, up with the stars;
While we rally round the flag, boys, rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

Hi everyone
sorry for the late post
i know some of you are very interested in hearing whats going to be playing while your marching your men towards their calling..
seeing what i'm seeing from the team side of things, which my favorite so far are the maps.
Outstanding Work is a under statement, simply Awsome.. Bravo Sir.LR.
sounds will be low on the list of amazing things about NSD new game
i just cant say anough,
i'll try an get a snibbet out but im working on a beta2 game version for the team to try out. i wanted to be alittle farther along at this point.. but making sure the sounds blend nicely can take time..and lifes woes bumping me around when it feels like it..

the whole game itself takes time to build its a wonder how computer games come to be
10th wonder of the world "the computer" I'm young still but do remember a world without it

I disagree, sounds are just as important as the artwork. Good sounds can really put you there and bad sounds can destroy an entire game, just like artwork. Sound is just as important as anything else. Now good sound without a good sound system is another story. So I plug the computer into a 60 inch TV, then turn on the surround sound and sit back and watch!! It's quite an experience.

It would be an awful boring 'not worth playing' game without great sound!
