This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Nice! Now if you could title it "Special Order 191" and wrap it around some cigars... Oops, wrong battle. :P

Hey, nobody ever did own up to that one!

Here is the POPUP_Courier file if you want to experiment with it!

Born, Reb, Yes those older cards are outdated, and are only good for the older style games. I use to have the same card as Born in my old computer, and what I found was, as these games became more sofisticated, the worse the card acted, and do not have enough memory to handle these new games. When I built my new computer, I went to a NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT, and have had no problems what so ever.

Didn't work on my old Sony Vaio laptop with ATI graphics. Man, I would have bet the farm that it was going to work.

DaVinci I'm uploading a screenshot of your Courier Screen taken from my Sony laptop. Notice how it's cropped at the bottom. It looks great but the text continues past the image. This is the behavior exhibited no matter what I try. I'll include the screens.csv file from the Large Courier Screen mod but you already have that. All I did was replace the POPUP_Courier.dds from the mod with yours.

The only thing I can think of to do next is download the game and the 1.2 patch again and reinstall from scratch. Any other suggestions are certainly welcome. Lot of collective energy spent on this problem... :(

born2see - three computers - and the same problem - that is strange considering that this doesn't affect everybody!

For now, you may have to find a temporarily fix, continue to play the game, and hopefully something will turn up within time, that explains this!

I can see your problem but I cannot solve it due to it not affecting my computer, so all I’m really doing it guessing!

Hey – if you removed the Courier Message at the top of the courier message – wouldn’t that give you more room to view the message?

The file has to be 1024x512, 1024x1024 or 2048x2048. 1024x768 won't work.

Pretty sure there's a band-aid solution that will work for scenarios but not sandbox. Rename the modded courier graphic and call up the new 'unique' name in gscreens. The big Yuk is that then all the scenarios would have to be edited to call up this new courier name...YUUUUUUUUK.

AD, you may be on to something. Here is a screenshot of the POPUP_Courier.dds enlarged to 1024 x1024 with the corresponding gscreens file. If I tweak what I call the controls (Cancel button, thumb slider, etc.) I might get this to work. Best looking result I've seen so far.

To enable what I just suggested, no parameters in gscreens need to be edited...just the graphic name. Guess you did this, since the bottom is cut off. The other edit is in the scenario's 'battlescript' file.

Wow. Here it is with DaVinci's screen. That was too easy. Not sure what will happen if the text exceeds the window but I will test that. Thanks.
