My God, the 3D works! I just got the glasses, and damn, it really works!

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

Hi.

I have tested a few more games. First off you require one monster of a system to get this to work properly, meaning your FPS drop could be significant.

1. Half-Life 2 is a true 9 out of 10, it's just excellent. (no fps hit)

2. Oblivion 9 out of 10. (little fps hit, depends on the mods, and graphic level)

3. Fear 2 another 9 out of 10. (no fps hit)

4. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 7.5 out of 10. (Iz3D is really hard on the single player fps). Works fine in Multiplayer, and Muliplayer mod called Pezbot v0.11 with next to no fps hit.

5.Arma2 8 out of 10 (fps hit, this is a monster of a game anyway, so expect slowdown).

6. StarWars Battlefront 5.9 out of 10. Ghosting problems. No fps hit, also caused one of my eyes to twitch for about 5 or so minutes afterward.

7. Scourge of War - Gettysburg 6 out of 10. FPS hit especially in Army vs Army. Still working on this.

8. Fallout3 7 out of 10. Massive FPS hit in certain areas.

9. Mass Effect2 7.5 out of 10. Very nice, but can get sloppy with the Shadows. Minimal FPS hit.

I'll be back with more games, I have to install them, configure them, and take allot of advil.

Later.

Hi, it's me again. I just can't stay away from this forum (either stay or have to watch my wife nit me socks, you figure it out).

Well I have tried everything to get this too work with SOW properly. It works, but I can't seem to get the proper convergence.

Of course I am using the free Anaglyph drivers, so those who are using hardware, or other drivers may get better results. The troop icons over the 2D map is funny to watch. I was able to get a setting which worked somewhat with explosions in the air which looked pretty cool. As far as getting the troops to look 3D, well NOPE, nada, never, and I feel it just won't happen. :( I couldn't even get the blades of grass to present itself as 3D.

Well I am going to keep working on it even if my eyeballs pop out of their sockets. Now I just saw some pics of 3D images for microsoft's flight simulator, and these look very cool, so I'm off to test this puppy out (fs2004 (FS9), and FSX). I'll let you folks know about it.

But imagine flying the flight sim in 3D...and with Airhauler...oh man what a treat this will be.

Yes I get excited I know. You should have seen me in Florida visiting Disney park. I burned the kids out in the first day.

Hi.

Okay I have tested 3 more games, and here are results...

1. Call of Duty 2 (WCP2.9 Full Final version mod installed): 10 out of 10. I don't know how to exactly explain this one, but it is the coolest thing I have seen yet. Even the snowflakes come out of the screen. WOW! I didn't have to adjust the settings for this game. Guys try this if you have COD2 you just won't believe your eyes.

2. MS Flight Sim 9: 6.0 out of 10. This is very interesting since trying to get the full 3D effect to adapt itself to give good effects changes when looking right, or left meaning you have to keep adjusting the settings. The Biggest Killer is when going to virtual view which is totally corrupted which obviously really impacts the overall experience. The coolest aspect of using the iZ3D is the outside view. For this alone I have given the score of 6.0 other than that it just won't work right. I do know that iZ3D is has released a RC version 1.13. Maybe this has fixed a few issues.

3. Brother In Arms Hells Highway: 9 out of 10. Again you have to experience this for yourself. Even the Cinematic's are very impressive. I just can't say enough about the effects here, they are mind blowing. Also it took very little configuration to get it too look correctly, and behave as 3D should. The settings only had to be adjusted for the onscreen text, other than that it worked out fine, and straight out of the box so to speak.

I told you I would be back.

Okay I tested 3 more games...I am using the free Anaglypth driver which requires no hardware.

1. Flight Sim 10 (fsx): 1.5 out of 10. iZ3D just isn't working correctly with this game. I gave this game over 2 hours of play time, and no matter what I tried, I couldn't get the proper 3D settings. FS4 worked much better (not by much though). I gave it a 1.5 because the game didn't crash while using iZ3D.

2. Spore: 7.5 out of 10. Pretty cool in the first stage, and while editing your creature. Once you get on land you have to tweak your settings once more, but nothing to annoying. The closer you get to your character the better the 3D effects. I didn't experience any real noticeable fps drop.

3. Deer Hunter 2005: 7.5 out of 10. I found this rather enjoyable. Once you get the proper settings, it's pretty cool. Not much more to say about it really. It's a treat to play in 3D.

4. Combat Mission 3: 0 out of 10. Just will not work with iZ3D. iZ3D does not recognize the game.

Update
------

Call of Duty 2: I have to drop it's score from 10 out of 10 to 8.8. The reason is that for some odd reason the 3D effect while holding your weapon has a small annoying tendency to pass through walls. It's a Very odd effect, but nonetheless the game is still really cool, and a joy to play, and experience in 3D.

Games I will test eventually
----------------------------

Games I will be testing soon: Tiger Woods Golf Games, Dawn of War, Max Payne 1 & 2, Mafia 1, Mafia 2, Operation Flashpoint 2, Empire at War, Silent Hunter 5, Sims 3, Fifa Manager 10, Black & White, Black & White 2, Age of Empires 3, Stacked, GTA Vice City, C&C Generals, Ghost Recon, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Brother in Arms 1, Brother in Arms 2, IL2 1946, Combat Flight Simulator 3 with "over Flanders Field" Mod, First Eagles with all DLC Addons, Hidden & Dangerous with all DLC addons, Rainbow Six Vegas, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Medieval Totalwar 2 with all Addons (Kingdoms etc)and Civilwar Mod, NHL 2008, and more...

Hi.

I have a couple. My real pride, and joy is my DOS collection.I made boxes for all of the loose dos games I had, then this spring (just too much snow on the roof)I had a roof leak, and it just so happen to be above my collection, so I lost them. I still have the games, just not the boxes....what a bloody waste.

Sometimes too much of anything isn't good, just more too lose I suppose.

Hi.

I forgot one game to list that I tested.

18 Wheels of Steel - Across America: 7 out of 10: The setup for iZ3D is that you have to make sure that you have it set from "Auto" mode to "Full Screen" Mode. Also you have to run the game in "Direct 3D" instead of the default Opengl mode. iZ3D only will work in Direct3D.

I wasn't expecting much from having this game in 3D, but it surprised me. I was slightly impressed while driving in the cab, the mirrors are in 3D, including a couple of other nice little tidbits which include the other drivers panel when they contact you via the CB radio. To get the traffic in 3D you will have to tinker with the settings a bit.

Hi.

I just finished testing a couple of more games, and here they are...

1. Stacked: 4 out of 10. First you have to activate the 3D after you are sitting at the poker tables. The setup unfortunately, and the way they have their in-game graphics, you can't get rid of the ghosting effect. Mind you it is cool seeing the other players in 3D. Unfortunately it's not worth it, and the cost of the eye strain is too much. Your eyes just don't have time to relax (if that is even possible).

2. Sid Meier's Gettysburg: 0 out of 10. It's directx versions of course is 5, and it just won't even work, iZ3D requires 8, and above to work correctly. Unless there is something out there that has been released to bring this excellent ACW game up to the standards of today's games (at least directx 8)...hmmm, something I could look into.

3. Star Trek Voyager Elite: 0 out of 10. This game is Opengl, so it just is not recognized by iZ3D. (too bad).

4. Halo: 6.8 out of 10. I found this really interesting to play in 3D. I didn't have to make any real changes in the settings to get this to work. There is not much to really say about this game, it just is missing something I guess to get me really excited about it. The graphics in 3D are pretty cool. I know there are those who really enjoy this game so please, spark up iZ3D, put the eyeglasses on, and have fun.

5. Battle Cruiser Millennium Gold Edition: 2 out of 10. Well Derek Smart is a pretty smart guy, his work has always been really ambitious, I guess he never thought someone like me would try to get his game too run in 3D. First off do not activate the 3D until you are in your ship or else you will have a very difficult time making up your character, and choosing a career. It really messes with the screens. The effects of being in Tacops is somewhat interesting, but nothing to write home about. Oh well, you will never know until you try. As for the rest of the game...NOPE! No Point but hey, if you don't believe me go for it.

Well that's it for now, I'm going to give my bulbs a rest before strapping the glasses back on.

Hi again...

Okay I tested four more games. (I am using the software 3D driver, not hardware)

1. IL2-1946: 6.5 out of 10. I have to rate this the same as SOWgb. I simply love this simulator, and with the added mods I sometimes just can't get enough of it (until SOWgb came along). Okay, straight out I had to mess around with the settings for the cockpit view but there was a bit of ghosting appearing around the cockpit canopy, but I did get it reduced to the point where if you wanted, it could be ignored. With that said it did look really cool, and looking out the canopy left/right, the engines showed 3 dimensional, they looked as they would if you actually were flying the plane, and actual combat made it feel a bit more realistic at times. Now the problem here is that if you switch to the outside/follow view you again have to adjust the settings, and if you pop back into the cockpit, again you have to mess about, so my suggestion is that if you stick to the cockpit the whole time, you might be fine. One more thing here, if you happen to have the right settings for yourself, please don't turn on or off the Auto Focus (default ctrl+/), you will just have to adjust your settings once more. BIGGEST thing to remember is make sure you have DIRECTX as the video driver (IL2 settings), not the default opengl.

2. GTA Vice City: 7 out of 10. Not bad while on foot, while you are in the vehicle you will have to do some tweaking, but not much. The traffic itself isn't much where 3D is concerned. The street characters you encounter while on foot look 3D, and this of course for your character as well. There was no fps loss (I had everything maxed out). While driving your vehicle from behind view can be made to look more 3D by using the default key "keypad plus". The cinematics at times can look pretty cool, you just need to do some tweaking to reduce the ghost effect.

3. Star Trek Bridge Commander: 0 out of 10. iZ3D didn't recognized it. I'm not too sure if this is an Opengl game or if it is using directx 7 or not. (too bad I really wanted to see this one work).

4. NHL 2008: 1.5 out of 10. Well, I am giving it the whopping 1.5 for allowing me to activate iZ3D. Very little stands out for this particular title. I would have thought that being amidst the action the characters would have been 3D...they weren't. While the game progressed, and I started to tweak the settings, and low & behold a player slapped the puck in the air toward eye level...man this could have been what I was looking for to work with 3D. NOPE massive let down if I have ever seen one. The only thing that showed dimensional are the team names, and some text. What a disappointment.

Oh well, I'll be back.

Hi again for the hundredth time.

I had to report on Warhammer 40K Dawn of War.

1. Warhammer 40K: 10 out of 10. WOW! You have to play this game in 3D if you have it. I have never seen a top down game look so great before. The visual Depth of the 3D is just incredible. When I activated the 3D software, I was blown away by it. Well I'm off to try C&C Generals to see if I get the same results. Why can't I get SOWgb to be like this...arrgh.
