Napoleon: Total War - North&South mod

Post by Hinkel »

Hey guys,

I'm Hinkel, the leader of the famous civil war mod "The Blue and the Grey" for Empire: Total War, which brings the civil war campaign into the game Empire: Total War since april 2009.

Now, 2 team members are working on a battle modification for Napoleon: Total War, North&South.

Napoleon:Total War features a very cool looking multiplayer battle expierence on big battlefields with up to 4vs4 people. But now, the Civil War and the battle of Antietam will hit NTW! :)

Some small pictures of the battlefield:

Does anybody of you played our civil war mod for Empire: Total War yet? Or are you interested to learn more about our NTW version? Visit our Forum: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=430508

I hope this won't be deleted as spam or something. Its just for civil war interested people like me, who would like to know more about other civil war games!

Hi.

Love your work. I have the "The Blue and the Grey" for Empire: Total War" mod, and I really enjoy it.

Keep up the great work.

OH BTW, do you have a website? or just a forum?

Cheers...

I thought Napoleon: Total War was it's own game. It's pretty big for an add on. I admit to never having played either one.

maybe it is? i just always assumed it was an addon. Add-ons never really do it for me, something in my psyche i suppose (although i will buy the add on for this game - but this game is different). Instead of new skins and maps, i prefer new features or gameplay and add-ons rarely suplpy that. I heard a rumour that napoleon included supply lines (somehting i really wanted included - so you couldnt just race your army across europe without having to stop) but i never heard them mentinoed afterwards so i dont think they were included. Shogun 2 included some sort of farm or food feature which i think does a good job of limiting invasions unless properly prepared, but i didnt like the look of it and never bought it.

No, N:TW is a completely separate game, albeit it quite similar to E:TW, which the creators quickly and unceremoniously abandoned supporting in favor of making the next title to profit from. I haven't played N:TW enough yet to tell you if there are any real changes, but it should be easy enough to google and look up. Shogun II is still too damn expensive, in my opinion, especially at the rate they are releasing games these days. It came out in what, March, and they have already admitted to moving on to the next title. Good thing these games have talented and committed modding communities.

Edit: and yes, Clark, their mod is safe. I haven't played it specifically, but if it's listed on the TWcenter forums, chances are it's safe. No mod will ever be 100% stable, but generally those good enough to garner their own spot on the forums there are good enough to be worth trying.

Hi, I am always interested in really killer combat games like SOW- is still the BEST by far. I got ETW and NTW in gold- but the combat is really not even close to SOW for realism- what it is is neat to look at- SOW is the best. When I got ETW I immediately tried blue and grey mod- and then I had hard drive problem so I haven't tried since. I enjoy the sharing on youtube to check out game graphics etc. Good hunting and thanks for this game, the best :cheer:
