Re: SOWGB Patch 1.3
I’m assuming that this Patch is needed for the new upcoming maps, but I didn’t read anything about that in the changes.
Will this new patch require any changes to the SDK?
Thanks,
davinci

Re: SOWGB Patch 1.3
My bad luck.
Game Launched
13:52:19 Version:SOWGB1.3
13:52:22 Loading Defined Lists
I have no idea what caused this crash. It is the first problem I have had with SOWGB. The program now fails to load since the installation of Patch 1.3.
My previous patch was 1.2 and I played a battle yesterday without issue. I don't know where to start with finding the problem. However, it looks like it could be a graphic problem as when the program tries to load, it displays a scrambled portion of the SOWGB opening screen. Then freezes and the Windows warning that the program has stopped running appears. I have tried both the "search the web for solution" and "close the program" choices. The program will close this way.
I have not tried a complete uninstall and reinstall because I fear I will get tangled up in the dreaded validation problems I read about. Help, please. I want to continue my celebration of the anniversary of First Manasssas!

One of the Team guys may know how to uninstall the 1.3 patch. The only way i know is System Restore to a date prior to the 1.3 install but I wouldn't recommend it in this case.

You're right. If you do that without deactivating (and you can't deactivate without being able to launch the game) that's where you'll end up.I have not tried a complete uninstall and reinstall because I fear I will get tangled up in the dreaded validation problems I read about

Re: SOWGB Patch 1.3
Thanks for the idea to reinstall the 1.2 patch. Seemed reasonable but no joy in this case. V1.2 patch installed and when I launched SOWGB, the crash occurred and appears identical to that described above. I'll cross my fingers and try to be patient.

Re: SOWGB Patch 1.3
some various debugging ideas:
Download the patch again, sound corrupt.
Download the full game and reinstall that without uninstalling first.
This patch is so minor, just small bug fixes and none during launch.
Also, install the full game, then the patch to a different folder completely, don't touch your normal game, just see if you can get the demo to run from a different folder.
take a look at your log, I install a shortcut to it in the start menu

Re: SOWGB Patch 1.3
Thanks for the ideas, Norb.
The log file has nothing in it.... I posted all of its contents when I asked for assistance above.
I'll try to get another download and use it.... and if necessary, do the install into another folder as you suggested. More later.
