Well I installed the program 2D to 3D Video Converter: http://download.cnet.com/2D-to-3D-Video ... 46128.html and converted over Startrek 2005 (cool movie), and it did convert it over, and I watched about 15 minutes of it. So far it's the best one I have tested. Thank goodness I have a some rewritable CD's I can burn to test it.
You don't need any special 3D player to view this converted movie, just pop it in to your DVD player, or Media Centre, and watch it with your 3D glasses. Now with that said, if you don't register it (I have no idea on the price) you will have their web address change positions over the movie screen which is making me hunt down a good free 2d to 3D converter...so far there is none to be found.
This one 3D Converter and 3D Player to experience amazing HQ 3D video yourself: http://convert-to-3d.com/ is not very good I'm afraid, not worth downloading.
Oh well, I thought you should know...
Cheers...
