Hey ya'll
I posted here on this forum about a year ago with my own concerns
about your DRM. Now i've quickly read through this thred and some
guy's pointed out my major concern aswell. The ability to play
this game in 5-10 years from now if i so please.

Now the game has been released and the DRM plan was put in motion.
So that leaves one great hope for me to buy this game...

I am sorry if this has been answered before but i could not find
it in this active community (Well done btw ;) ). So my question is this:
Could you please drop the DRM in a couple of years or so? Mabye when
you're income from the game has droped low enough.

Cause if you guy's can make this promise i will buy this game right
now! With a clear knowledge i can play it with my dear strategy
fanatical friends for years to come.

I have the most respect for the team behind the game and the game
itself but this is a major issue for me. And i hope that this proposal
could be made reality as it would probably make everyone happy.

Hope to finally see you boy's on the battlefield.

Norb, the game designer has stated before that if something happens, and the game cannot move forward that the security settings would be removed.

The previous game was also opened up to the community which allowed for the maps to be made, so if he states this, almost all of us here believe him.

Davinci is right. No matter what there will always be a way to get the game, even if the DRM has to be removed one day.

I understand how some people have concerns about DRM, but it is the future of gaming. And once you have the game and have gone through the process, you will see how painless it really is. :)

I for one feel that if I couldn't play the game again, I have already got my money's worth and that's with only playing one MP game. I have never found anyone better to do business with,it just doesn't get any better. Getting started is easy and I've seen enough already to know that Norb will keep the word given or be honest enough to say why he can't.

I'm not a big fan of copy protection but not buying a game because you might not be able to play it in 5 years seems a little extreme. Besides, look what Good Old Games has done to resurrect old titles.

Buy the game. You won't be disappointed and you'll enjoy every minute.

I actually bought the game yesterday.
I must say i am very impressed with the improvments in formations,
attention to detail and realism. However there is one thing that
bugs me a little bit.

I don't know how to explain it really, but simply the lack of feeling...
The beutiful art is replaced with low quality b&w photographs and the
UI seems sloppy and lacks that wooden touch. Now i can understand that
some people thought the detail was in the way but removing it just looks
horrible. On the positive side i love the addition of the officers
portraits in the ui, makes the unit more personal.

Love the game everybody! Thank you for helping me make my decision!

I think that it has a lot to do with the toolbar from the previous game; several people here voiced their concern about this when the game first came out.

But, as you continue to play on this toolbar, it will become normal, and acceptable.

Besides, all of that is moddable \ changeable – depending on how my time you are willing to put into it!

After a year of playing with this toolbar I would have a hard time trying to draw the previous toolbar without error.

We always appreciate when someone such as yourself takes the leap. We know there is a huge anti DRM feeling out there. But we were VERY careful in choosing our solution and had many criteria that had to be met before we decided. We only ever install anything into the game folder you select. No secret dlls, etc. in the windows folder. You can always wipe out everything from us by just deleting your game folder. All of our activation is in there too. We also only connect to the server when you activate or deactivate, so you don't have to worry about constant connections. We can even activate through email if you don't want to connect to the servers. But that takes a while. We can't say that it's been 100% smooth, there have been some issues, but we have a great group of guys supporting all issues as soon as we get them. I don't think there is anyone that hasn't had their problems solved. So thank you for your trust :)

The one machine activation, kills it for me.. I like the game.. but I always forget to deactivate on my desktop or laptop so when I sit down to play.. doesn't work.. yeah I'm a lazy SOB.. but because of that I never play (some day I'd like to move my desktop up out of the cellar, probably then I might play more). The desktop is more enjoyable, since the graphics cards is a lot more powerful..

But again, because of that lil nuisance.. I really don't play the game at all... I did have a blast doing MP for a a lil while..
