Pipe Creek Scenarios

Post by cliometrician »

Playing on the new Pipe Creek maps I found that my point of view, my camera in the sky, is limited to just a little above ground level in both the new scenarios, and in Sandbox, for Multi-Player. It is not as restrictive as HITS, but is still a lot more restrictive than what I've been used to. In solitaire play the POV is just the way it has always been--just wish it was that way in MP.

Is this done as part of the 1.03 patch just for the Pipe Creek Scenarios? On the Gettysburg maps everything is the way it used to be; only on the Pipe Creek maps do we have the restricted eye in the sky.

How come?
Interesting. There should not be any limitation like that......at least in my versions there aren't.
Not to worry my friend. I'm sure as soon as possible either Norb, LP or perhaps ADukes will come along and assist you. ;)

Sounds like you either have the difficulty set to historical or above in MP options, or your max camera distance is restricted in the Custom Diff settings in MP options.

Hmmm, the setting is on Normal and I've never touched the max camera distance in MP custom settings. But I'll go back and check the settings again--that sounds like it's the problem. Thanks

Well, it's clear that I must not know what I'm doing wrong. In MP the max camera distance was set at O, meaning no restrictions. I tried a game without Custom settings on Normal, then with custom settings at O for camera--that did not work. Then I put the camera distance at 800.....everything is still the same. The camera is still just barely above my troops.

There must be some simple explanation, but I can't find it.

Well, problem fixed......the Realism button on MP was checked. I just unchecked it.
