That 12 person game worked only because it was on an old map (Culp's hill). I suspect that there is some bug that still needs to be worked out with G's new random maps. I'm sure that it will be any day now. The new maps are really cool and remind me to some extent of the hedgerow terrain in Normandy.

More games are needed, but the ugly "7 bug" is still rearing its ugly head. It just is a small obstacle to getting games going, but annoying all the same.

I have limited ability to test with 10 clients, but I did write a spawner and had 17 getting right in the game.

If someone is in the game and cannot see everyone, the server should reload the scenario. This should fix the issue without people having to leave and come back in.

We ran an ARMY sized sandbox mp game with 4 of us last night. Previously this configuration had hung early. Ran very well last night.

So much depends on the connection speeds of the players. The server should always be the person with the best connection.

Gotta make a dedicated server for a future release.

We played with 12 last night, and a couple of times it froze but recovered within a minute, whereas before that kind of freeze would have been a game-killer. We haven't had a fatal game freeze since the patch. I'm optimistic.

Hopefully we'll have enough players show up Friday to have 18 or more in a game. You should come join us, Norb. Little Powell will be there.

That is more than likely the courier bug that I fixed. This is awesome and it is all due to some dedicated players getting me the log files.

Thanks for the invite, I will be there if I'm around, but Friday's are tough with real life.

Yeah I'll be there by 9. Hopefully the big games will still be going on by then.

I saw a report on Garnier's site about one "waiting on player" freeze.. Not sure if logs were sent though, hopefully they were.

Don't count that freeze. Seal was hosting and the game sputtered and stalled from the beginning. It might have restarted, but the game was running so slow we stopped it on the third freeze. It may have restarted. We didn't give it much time.

I hosted the next game with the same players, sans one, and it ran fine. One player was on wireless and he really slowed Seal's game down, but he ran fine when I hosted.

Ah ok good to know. If a host is having major connection issues, a game is going to freeze no matter what. As I'm sure you know, it's best for the player with the fastest connection (non-wireless) to host for the big games. Smaller 2-4 player games don't really matter. I hosted during our test the other night. I was on a mid-grade wireless connection, and it ran flawlessly for an hour.
