Hmmmm, how could one use AutoKeystrokes while playing the game?

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

Hmmmm, how could one use AutoKeystrokes while playing the game?

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Hi.

Since I'm feeling a little bit better, I thought I would go poking around for something that would allow me to execute several commands with a press of a key while playing games, and I came across this piece of software called Auto Hot Key. I'm sure many of you folks have heard of this before.

Very Brief Description:

AutoHotkey is a free, open-source utility for Windows. With it, you can:

Automate almost anything by sending keystrokes and mouse clicks. You can write a mouse or keyboard macro by hand or use the macro recorder. Create hotkeys for keyboard, joystick, and mouse. Virtually any key, button, or combination can become a hotkey. Expand abbreviations as you type them. For example, typing "btw" can automatically produce "by the way".

Create custom data-entry forms, user interfaces, and menu bars. See GUI for details.
Remap keys and buttons on your keyboard, joystick, and mouse.
Respond to signals from hand-held remote controls via the WinLIRC client script.
Run existing AutoIt v2 scripts and enhance them with new capabilities.
Convert any script into an EXE file that can be run on computers that don't have AutoHotkey installed.

Anyway, just thought I would pass this along. Who knows maybe it can be used for SOWgb. For myself, I'm going to use it for fallout 3.

Aahhh Grasshopper. The old becomes new again. The Ancients ones described this in a ritual named VisiCalc. Those who partook of the Lotus 123 knew it's mysteries as well. You have come a long way on your path to knowledge but have much farther yet to travel.

Howdy.

No doubt sir. I was using these type of things years ago while playing Tradewars 2002, ISA, BRE, and especially for Ultimate Mayhem back in the very early 90's. Actually much earlier for automating several tasks for my local BBS...

Nothing new really, These type of things have been around for a very long time. :)

cheerio!
