This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.
The software doesn't care where he is installed. You can place it where you want, and avoid program files which can be troublesome because of special permission of this directory.
Oh okay, thanks for the reply. Well I don't know whats going on. I'll let you know if it works with VMware installed os's or not.
With the new exe you should have a errorlog.txt a crash occur, can you copy/paste the content of the file ?
I try on my wife computer to see if I can reproduce the problem.
Edit : ok I think I know what is the problem you don't have the registry key in your registry.
It can occur if the game was not installed by installer.
Hmmmm. This would be odd not too happen because I have installed the game as you would any other. Then again I have the first release of the game so who knows maybe they have changed the way the installer works now. Man, I just do not want to have to download the newest version, that will take me over 21 hours to do, and I just do not have the patience or tolerance for it.
Also I do not see the error log which you you spoke of (above). I have the latest fix you posted. Well, this is really becoming a mystery....
Later.

The test non my wife computer has been useful, a crash can occur if you don't have the game registry key in your computer registry (it can happen if the game has been installed without use the installer).
I do some additional test than i will give you the fixed exe.

This is annoying I didn't see what can cause a crash like you experiment.
And I'm unable to reproduce it.
Except the registry problem the soft run well after I fix it on my wife computer, will try to compile in .net 4.0 instead 3.5
Or maybe there is a problem when loading data from game directory just after the start, can you send me your mods directory ?

Well, I can't download your fix because I am being told I have exceeded my download limit for the day. Mega Upload obviously has a port limit enforced which really sucks.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by Mods Directory, but here is a pic showing my structure. Left side is SOWgb game root, and the panel of the right shows my mod directory structure.

Perfect, can you just try to rename your mods directory in mods_bak then launch the editor (with the registry fix because I want to be sure it's not a registry problem).
Sorry for megaupload, maybe I will reconsider your proposition now

Hi.
Okay, I'll rename my mods directory to mods_bak. I'll let you know how it goes.
Cheers.
