We can pretend that the clock is faster than it is.  I don't know if it's possible to change it, and it wouldn't make any difference to gameplay anyway.
I think casualties accumulate much too quickly at long ranges, and much too slowly at close ranges, but that's another thing we can't mod.  
I don't think that the fighting is too fast overall from a gameplay perspective.

That's exactly my point.  It would be purely a cosmetic change.  The game appears more historical, but with no effect on the gameplay we obviously both enjoy.  A win win in my book.
