Modding Terrain \ Maps

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Modding Terrain \ Maps

Post by Davinci »

Hey, if any of you map \ terrain modders would like to change the look of the trees, such as adding in some new ones - Download the Chancellorsville Map from the other Site and grab the trees from that mod.

I think that the trees were done by DavidD, and Crikey also adding in some changes.

These trees blend in very well with the default trees once the default trees have been slightly desaturated.

I'm still in the process of changing the look of Pipe Creek2 - but I'm no where near complete, so I thought that I'll pass on this info about the trees.

A few pictures of mixing the trees!

Great job Davinci. I think a new improved Trees/Terrain mod is in order. :)

Hey D, nice work. You are aware that Davidd and Jolly exist in the same plane and universe, I've been using Jolly's Trees Terrain Mod for forever now, it's a fixture in my Mods Cabinet. :)

Thanks, you know what I’ll like to do would be to find a way of adding in falling branches, and weeds to all of the existing trees. This would create the appearance of a wooded area that is not so clean of debris.

Now that you mention it, I do remember the mod that Jolly had, but I don’t remember these trees being added into that mod.

Jolly \ Davidd – has quite a talent with modding these trees.

Davidd/Jolly here.
Sorry about any naming confusion. For some reason when I first signed onto this board, pre-game release, I used the name Jolly and I'm stuck with it.

The Trees/Terrain mods for both 2nd Manasses and SOWG were indeed by myself. :)

Well, that would explain why the trees are so compatible with the games default terrain.

Excellent job, it gives the wooded areas a great selection of different trees to look at.
