Scourge of War Gettysburg on DALnet has been registered for you to use.

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

I'm not a Linux guy but I have tried to use it from time to time. My approach, and I do this for many things, is to start using it and see what you don't know. I suspect this is the way you operate as well.

You used to be able to set up a dual-boot system if you don't have another computer. I would do that if you can and since it's an OS, try doing the things you would do in Windows. I'm not one for tutorials. I'm better off researching what I don't know or understand as opposed to sitting through someone else's learning method.

I'm sure there are a ton of people on here who would love to give you their two cents worth. But since you asked, there is mine.

PS: While were talking about these kind of things, anybody ever set up or used Tor?

I'd be interested to get your take on it and how you got it to work. I installed it and it set up a local (127.0.0.1) proxy which blocked all my outgoing traffic. Stopped working on it at that point but I'm heading back there.

Hi.

Okay I see what it is. It acts like a firewall of sorts for webbrowser's and for few other tidbits. That is interesting. It's 17 megs so I have to download it in pieces. I don't want to tie up my high dialup bandwidth (Hahahaha). I have my IRC server, and my BBS running. I can't let my BBS users down.

I'm going to have to try to get my brother to download Unbuntu. Man that is one monstrous download. I am going to install it by using VMware to give it a test drive. I don't normally dual boot anymore. (Hurrah).

I have installed a MAC os on VMware to give it a try (useless info I know) :)

Thanks for the info B.

No problem there B. It's on my list here to test drive. here is my short list of to-do's.

1: Go back to manning a Live ATC sector for Halifax via VatSim or IVAO (haven't figure out which yet)
2: Start flying again via Vatsim or IVAO (Same).
3: Tor.
4: Linux (instllation, and tinkering)
5: Installing, and allowing BBS Doors to be run directly form Web browser by using JS.

Is there a list of things you want tested using Tor?

Cheers...

I don't like the idea of entities tracking my Internet activity. I have nothing to hide and would be glad to reveal it to someone who had a right to know. However I don't want my Internet experience determined by my habits.

I've said this before; personal privacy is a thing of the past. We still have physical privacy but what facts of your life haven't you revealed to some organization, public or private?

Call me Old School but I want a modicum of Internet privacy while I can still get it.

Not sure that answers your question but it was fun to write. :P <--- my favorite emoticon.
