MP Protocol
Hi guys, I have just logged off teamspeak on the SOW site looking for some MP advice and was disappointed to hear someone ranting and raving with some really inappropriate comments (language, racial slurs). He was booted off but kept returning. Just thought I would point this out. Being new to MP I hope this isn't the norm. I have always read good comments concerning the SOW MP community.

Definitely not the norm. The trolls have been out in force the past few days. Strong sentiment has been expressed for coming up with a password for the TS channel.

Re: MP Protocol
That's good to know exp101. It was quite disconcerning to come across someone making these comments on my first time getting my feet wet with MP. These "trolls" as you call them, need to be dealt with quickly before they give the SOW MP community a bad name.

Agreed. Pretty disturbing stuff. I've been playing MP now for a couple of months and this has only come up in the past few days. I'm sure it will be quickly dealt with.

Yeah, that guy is pretty ridic. He has now got himself on garnier's website so that is not safe. Earlier he was impersonating Garnier on Ts. Anywhere we post a pw will have to be thought of very carefully. Maybe it should be sent out via e-mail or something.

Hi.
Can't the Teamspeak moderator ban their IP?

He comes up with a new one each time. Also he has created a div on garnier's site under the name "sideburn". I predict he will show up here sooner or later.

I am wondering if Teamspeak has the ability to ban Partial Ip's example...He comes up with a new one each time. Also he has created a div on garnier's site under the name "sideburn". I predict he will show up here sooner or later.
Ban IP 165.154.46.*
Later.
Re: MP Protocol
Banning IPs is useless since you can change your IP. Passwords are also bad as you either keep them secret, meaning you have to contact everyone privately before they can get in TS, or you make it public and it doesn't keep anyone out.
I've set up some groups that hopefully will work. I'll have to add all the admins back, and then all admins should be able to add any user to the "registered" group which will let them join channels other than the entrance channel.
What were they doing on TS? Were they just making noise that you couldn't get away from, or did they somehow get admin access?

Re: MP Protocol
Aside from being generally disruptive with rapid-fire, insulting texts, there were long audio broadcasts of various background noises & soundtracks, and juvenile, often racially-based obscenities. Last night this sideshow not only interferred with our first game but kept us from initiating a second. Our channel rating quickly went from PG to R.
Would your proposed adjustments require admins to add our real players at each TS visit or just the first time?
