Custom Maps Yet? or ever?

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Custom Maps Yet? or ever?

Post by Marmusman »

Hello all!!

I have been away from this game for a bit now, I bought it when it was first released and played MP for awhile....but then stepped away to concentrate on a flight sim I got addicted to.

I did some searching, but couldn't find any info.....can custom maps be made yet? Or is Norb planning to keep that under their domain for future expansion releases? I am highly interested in making maps for this game.

Thanks.
...just my 2 cents,
Marmus

Right now we are still working hard on creating new content for SOWGB. We promised that when we are finished creating our own content, at that point we will start cleaning up the tools and release them. We have no date for this yet. But we are working hard to getting out new maps and lots of great battles for your enjoyment!

Norb,

Thanks for the response. This is why I really had high hopes for the game when you first released it....you guys seemed to be really good at engaging with the users and it looks like it is still true. I have no problem with you holding off to make more of your own content....you guys need to make money!!! I did finally find the thread on the Pipe Creek add on....$10 isn't a bad price.

It would be great to have this game develop into a highly organized mod community that is interested in historic accuracy. From experience with other games, I believe that the ability to make maps will help to develop that type of community. But I completely understand the need for you guys to make money....you are a business after all.

Geez. I thought there was a pretty good mod community already.

I meant no offense.....I have been away for a while, so I don't even know what mods have been made lately. My interest is in maps. They tend to open up a whole new avenue of modding.

I knew that. Just giving you a bad time. :P You're not alone in your lust for maps. All I can say is patience, my son, patience.
