Kansas Random Maps

Post by Jack ONeill »

All,

Finally got to play on one of the Kansas Random maps last night. Really cool. However, as indicated By G, my stock Kansas map has been replaced. As always, I know there is a thread here by G explaining this and how to get your stock Kansas map back. Naturally, I can't find it. Help? (Good, I'm a whiney Sod.)

Okay, found something. Just for GP, I went looking in the "Maps" folder in the "Base" section. There are two sets of KS maps. one set has dds listing, the other has a dds.bak listing. Could one of them be the original and one the GCM replacement? Pain-killing-drug=addled minds want to know. Thanks.

Okay, that doesn't work. Can someone send me a PM with all the Stock Kansas Map Files so I can back them up somewhere? I'd appreciate it.

Jack, not sure what's going on but Garnier's random map is East Cavalry Field, not Kansas.

No Shit, Born.

For those of you who are not children - I am aware the map is a modded ECF. However, according to G, the map replaces the Kansas map. Those of you who play MP, chcek it out. You will find the modde ECF map when you screen up the Kansas map for play. It would be nice if Garnier would reply as I still can't find the original thread where he explained all this.

Sorry, Jack. I never play single player. Had no idea my Kansas map was now the latest version of Garnier's random ECF.

I sent Garnier an email and asked him to check out this thread. He hasn't been around since his ill-fated attempt to sway NSD last weekend.

KG_S,

NP. Too bad about that attempt. Could have been cool. Was a good idea I thought. If you check the Kansas map in MP also, it will be the modded ECF map.

Yeah. . . perhaps someday we can have a real random map generator for MP play.
