Attach/Detach Brigade vs Attach/Detach Regiment

Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

Are these steps right?

I changed it to Adetach and Aattach

I made a mod folder, put another folderinside it called logistics, then copied the new GUI into it. I activated that mod.

No luck. Would you try it? Without courier menu - click on a brigade commander, click 'attach regiment' then click on a brigadier general from a DIFFERENT division.

EDIT - found loads more attach commands in there, but all seem to have the same command - ill try changing them.

EDIT2 - i changed ALL the infantry attach commands I could find - still wont work across divisions.

Ok, I tried detaching a brigade and attaching it to a different division and was unable to do it. The commands (A)detach/(A)attach are used only for detaching/attaching units to the same parent unit. Joinbrig/splitbrig are the commands for doing this across different parent units. These commands work fine on regiments. The splitbrig will split off ~1/2 of the brigade and create a new commander. That commander can be given the joinbrig command, a pointer will appear, place the pointer over the brigade you wish these regiments to join and press enter. That new commander disappears and the regiments are now part of the other brigade. Unfortunately, it doesn't work at higher levels, just as you discovered. The gui.csv uses splitbrig as splitbrig:1. But the sdk manual does not show this form. I don't know what the '1' means. You might ask Oliver. He would know. Perhaps different numbers are used for different levels. Of course, it may also just not work for higher levels.

Bummer - thought we had a quick fix there.

Could we change splitbrig:! to splitbrig:2 or 3? As you say, it might be the levels - brigade, division, corps.

Sure. Just change it in your mod version of the csv. The one you want to try is associated with Lvl4 infantry. That's the division level. Look in column A for GUI_LVL4_Inf_Orders. It's one of those.

I was under the impression that it worked something like splitbrig:1 equals On , and splitbrig:0 would equal off!

But, it would be good if you just happened to figure this out, and units could be added across divisions.
