Types of fire
Types of fire
Has there been any talk of ideas of having the choice to choose types of fire. Perhaps tool bar selection. I know infantry tactics had several types of fire such as Fire by file, fire by company, fire by battalion, fire at will, fire by rank. I just think that adding these features will not only add to the gameplay as a commander of troops but also to the authenticity of the game itself. Even if its as simple as adding a choice to do volley fire. Just a thought

Re: Types of fire
Not sure if fire by rank etc, is possible, think most folks here would like some type of volley fire.

All,
This topic went around the forum sometime back. The general concensus was the game engine/coding issues for volley fire, fire by rank, etc...were beyond the capabilities of the game at the time. It may be time to revisit this, I don't know. Norb/Team?

Re: Types of fire
I posted about it about 9 or so months ago, Who knows maybe it can be done now. It's been a very good year for new, and cool things for the game...
I for one would love to have that option.

I know Sid Meiers Gettysburg and Antietam gave the option to do a volley fire, although it was just making the selected unit hold their fire as they kept going through the firing motions and u had to time it just right to click the button where they would all fire at the same time but its effects did nothing more than regular fire at will. Definitly think rates of fire should be worked into the game. I would love it, and as a civil war reenactor, would have such respect for the authenticity of tactics and types of fire. I have faith in the NorbSoft Team.

Volley fire has been on the short list for a while. There's a good chance it'll get into the game in some shape or form.
