to jack, thats what i wanted to hear.i think the ai in this game is the best i have ever come up against, and if it can execute true napoleonic period tactics as you describe then i cant wait!
and to leatherneck.fear not sir we english, redcoats to a man have the measure of the corsican artilleryman.we will send him to the right-abouts!
the emperor needed a murat for his cavalry at waterloo, then i belive they would not have been wasted so shamefully.cheers

Redcoat the French needed so much. They needed Davout in command of Ney's Corps but he was back in Paris doing all the behind the scene things that the retired marshals took care of in the early days. Even if Grouchy was the Army commander of Ney's wing and put Ney on the point of following the Prussians life would be so different. Everyone seems to forget but Grouchy was actually the most experienced cavalry officer in the whole army. He did a good job of commanding Dragoons most of his career. By far the best leader of Dragoons. If I recall he was given command of the infantry because he wrote the Napoleon even in 1807 saying his old wounds almost forced him to retire from the cavalry. He wanted command of infantry because I am guessing was less demanding on the body. Poor Grouchy just wish you missed Waterloo!

gunship24 - Hey, How is everything going!

Is there a specific reason that you are skipping over the 25th Graphic File relating to firing the Artillery?

Also – the French Army 25th file is skipped also.

Example - from Textures file!

cont,AUS_ART_GUN_SHOOT24.dds
AUS_ART_GUN_FIRE.dds,AUS_ART_GUN_SHOOT26.dds
cont,AUS_ART_GUN_SHOOT27.dds

Edit Post

Also - check the unitglobal file - captured Supply Wagons switches back to wagons from the Civil War period.

Hi Davinci, the 25th sprite is used for the READY animation. I noticed that if you only want one file in your animation you dont have to create an entry in textures.csv, instead you can simply name the file in unitgfx.csv, so in that file I have used AUS_ART_GUN_SHOOT25.dds for the AUS_ART_GUN_READY animation. I think thats repeated with some other units. Good spot on the ammo wagon I shall update it.

P,

Thanks. I hadn't noticed. I try and figure out where it went. Most likely the graphics draw was changed by accident.

This is a general comment on the Leibfahne and Leibstandarte for infantry and cavalry respectively: Yes it is there, I took it out because I got confused right before release which battalions/squadrons were supposed to have it, then I got even more confused on which way round it was best to have it, i.e. double headed eagle or Madonna. The other one on the other hand was simple so i just put that in for everything. If someone could please enlighten me as to which units had it (1st battalion/squadron maybe?) that would be cool. B)

Gun and P,

Exactly right on both counts. I don't think we can do 2-sided flags in SOWGB. AI would go nuts. Good catch though.
