I would lay the blame of several other opportunities in Kentucky but those all need to rest on the shoulder's of Braxton Bragg.

Not all of them. The "good (read: useless) bishop" Leonidas Polk certainly didn't help matters in Kentucky, either in 1861 or 1862. For that matter he didn't really help matters anywhere at all, regardless of what commander he served under (obstructed A. S. Johnston, Beauregard, Bragg, and Joe Johnston). For the good of the Confederacy, Davis ought to have sacked Polk.

I agree. Leonidas Polk (room mate of Jeff Davis), horrible General. However, General Bragg is to blame for allowing himself to be manipulated by Polk. Robert E. Lee, Thomas Jackson, or even Joe Johnston would not allow the insubordination of Polk. Bragg's Kentucky Camapign, Stones River Attack, and the start of Chickamauga were audacious. He could simply not change his original plans as enemy movements dictated. He could not commit. Yeah Polk is to blame, but do you think a Lee, Jackson, or Grant would put up with that. At least they would not put that great of responsibilty on that General. I hate this modern expression, but, at "the end of the day" Bragg was in command, and Bragg holds full responsibility. If we go a step further, Its Jeff Davis' fault. He neglected the west for so long that it caught up with him. He was manipulated by the Eastern Bloc and R. E. Lee for that matter. I love Lee, I think of him as the greatest (at least most beloved and daring General in American Military History),but he manipulated CS Congress and Davis not to re-enforce the west following and before Chancellorsville. There was talk of sending George Pickett's Division (horrible choice...Overrated as an elite unit) to Mississippi and Lee (would never leave virginia) to Mississippi to handle Grant. I could go on for another 500 pages but Steve Woodworth already did in "Jeff Davis And His Generals" or "Two Great Rebel Armies" by Richard McMurray. I agree somewhat, but Bragg is responsible. I would love to challenge any on the war (either side). I like the coversation and used to publish my work during the ACW hey-day of the 90's. Now, I just make maps and play this game. Thanks for the rebutal, it was fun.

Ah that's great news, 'Brother John' would be pleased that these are being released ....I really miss John we had quite a few chats in email and on MSN re projects using TC2M and SOW. He was totally passionate about the Civil War and American history in general and very knowledgeable.

When I'm doing Mods I always fondly remember those chats...A great guy and really talented modder who is sorely missed.
