I am now convinced...

Well I hosted another game with a very nice fellow going by the nickname Jimcrazy8. His connection is a standard DSL, and of course anyone reading my earlier posts would know that I have a whopping internet connection of 46.6 netzero.

The game ran smoothly with no hiccups. The thing here is that Jimcrazy8 only had the demo version of SOW, and of course we played the Kansas map, but with that said there were no pauses to speak of, no lag, and best of all we won the battle. I do hope that Jimcrazy8 does purchase the game because he will be a very good addition to the Multiplayer community (like all of you are).

Yes, even for you folks who have a dial up connection, you too can host (small) battles online, and take part (if you are not hosting) in much larger battles since I have already played a battle a few months back with 8 players in total with very little lag, and I also have to mention that the battle with 8 players was with a much earlier patched version of the game... Obviously Norb is an absolute genius when it comes to code.

I also have given up on trying to find someone else who has a dialup connection. It appears I am one of the old timers left in this world, or I'm just too cheap  , either way I have dialup.

Time to try out GCM, I have always wanted to take part in that.

:)

You should definatley try out the GCM if you can host the battles 2v2 or 3v3 mikesla.Lack of hosts is one thing that slows up battles earlier in the day.Im sure some of the guys would be happy to try some small battles if you turn up earlier than the 7pm est battle.Good luck

Hi General P R Cleburne

I am now signed up with GCM (MichaelSlaunwhite), and ready to roll. I'm not really looking to host any games unless I'm wanting to pick up a game here, and there with new a person who would love to just have a fun game without the pressures of playing with the old timers (old timers referring to your skill level)out there.

I do want to take part in the larger battles with someone else hosting the game (the only way to fly). I have had a game in the past with 8 people playing without a hitch (that I am aware of) which really makes more sense.

So here I am wishing to expose my inexperience to the rest of the world (something I dislike almost as much as Brussels sprouts).
