Beta Patch for 1.4
Re: Beta Patch for 1.4
Gonna take it again from the top, reinstall everything, check the correct selections on the battle screen, and then report back here. I have no doubt it's me, just got myself baffled at the moment

Norb, thanks for the heads up on the mipmap. Will play with values to see if it produces better graphics.

Re: Beta Patch for 1.4
I tried manually inputting that line. Was unable to open game. Put a value of 1.Update:
ADukes was right! I was calling something wrong in PR for mipmap levels. This will be an ini file option in the next beta patch release.
[Initialization]
MipMaps = -1
That is the default value, 1 is the nicest looking, but slowest. You can try 1-5 to see where you like it. Unknown results if you go above 5, -1 is where it is now which allows PR to determine the correct number, which is says is 5 for a 2048x2048 texture, which is why the graphics seem worse far away, since our packed textures are much larger they generate more mipmaps.
Taking out the line did not allow the game to open either. Will reinstall patch tomorrow.
When I say the game doesn't open I mean that I try to start the program but it doesn't load. Is there something I can send you guys?

Re: Beta Patch for 1.4
Downloaded in 4 minutes, installed in 1. I then played solitaire sandbox with an OOB that I often use: three Union corps vs. six Confederate divisions. The movement was very jerky/sluggish, on the same settings that I've been using.
From reading a prior post, perhaps it has something to do with changing a default value...which I know nothing about. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Beta Patch for 1.4
Very positive experience for me so far. Loading is much quicker, and I am able to play some of the larger scenarios which previously taxed my pc with higher graphic settings. No problems with sandbox.
Re: Beta Patch for 1.4
One thing does not work well: in the SANDBOX option that makes the choice of 1 or more objective. I chose 5 but I only see 1.
The rest seems ok.

Re: Beta Patch for 1.4
Installed patch 1.4. After installation received message that code is corrupted and needed to deactivate and reactivate. Tried this but says game is activated. Code that I had is no longer valid. Sent a message to Norb but wondering if anyone else experienced same problem. Am only able to access the demo game. No sandbox available

A very big improvement of the courrier system should be have the same disposition of the oob when choosing destination of courrier than choosing leader in sandbox :

Currently it's nearly impossible to find a small leader in a big oob.

Didn't make this patch unfortunately, but never fear - I have that reported and it's something I really want implemented as well so will be following that up personally.

Re: Beta Patch for 1.4
Tried it again this morning without reinstalling patch. The game loaded this time. However, I noticed no change in the blurriness far away, even with a value of 2 or 1. [Initialization]Update:

MipMaps=1
Full Screen=1
Screen Res=4
AntiA=2
Anso=4
Any ideas?
