As remarkable as the 1.4 1:1 sprite:soldier change is, does it "fix" or "break" unit frontages over against previous versions?
Put another way, it looks like 1:1 frontages are substantially larger than the previous 4:1's (duh). Were then the frontages off under 4:1 or are they off under 1:1?
I suspect, note I say suspect, that the 4:1's are correct, but I wanted to ask the experts.

I noticed that too. 1:1 does not shrink the soldiers and there is a maximum of 145 or so sprites. So most of the units are this maximum and you can not distinguish the size anymore. 1:4 is now best coice I suppose.

At 4:1 the unit frontage is 89% of what it would of been based on the sprite size. There is also no more than 125 sprites in a unit at any ratio.
