Mods not working

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Mods not working

Post by apoll »

Hi, I'm a newby and trying to get some of the graphical mods to work, particularly the one with trees and terrain looking much better. Just doesn't seem to do anything to my set up; I still have the awful lime green treens instead of the darker more realistic ones in the terrain mods. How do I get them to work with the latest patched game? In mods folder and activate that way? (That didn't work BTW...) Or overwrite the files directly/ (Which also didn't work BTW..) What am I doing wrong? Grateful advice.

If you're playing the Historical Gettysburg scenarios, the mods don't work. That's by design.

Where did you get the mod from apoll?

I have no idea what mod you are speaking about. If I knew I might be able to help you....well maybe.

Here unzip this into your mods folder this should help even if I don't know what mod your working with.Give it a try, and let me know then I can upload this to the mods server.

Okay when I say the mods directory, I mean unzip the file into the mods directory which you are talking about.

eg. NorbSoftDev->Scourge of War Gettysburg->Mods->Trees and Terrain

Extract the contents of this file which has a folder called "Logistics" into the Trees and Terrain directory.

Sorry if I made it sound like I'm talking to a noob here. I just don't know how comfortable you are with windows, and archivers, and the such.

I do hope this helps. I do know I have been able to get Little Powell's blood Splash mod working by doing this which is a great mod to have...I love that splash!

Michael, it is the Terrain Mod by Jolly, but Garnier's one also doesn't work. Sorry, should have been more specific. With your advice, you mean extract the files in Logistics and put them in the terrain mod folder in mods?

Put the logistics folder in the Terrain mod by Jolly, and Garnier's Darker trees mod. I think this will work for you. I was able to get my blood mod working, and LP's excellent splash mod (blood sure does fly in his mod).

Please let me know how it goes. :)

Michael, yes...it works. Putting that logistics folder in the terrain mod works. I will now try it with the other mods to see if it also works for them.

Thanks very much. Don't know what you did, but it works.

Haaaa, have to love that excitement!!!

Cool. Actually it was RebBugler who inadvertently got me thinking when he said that he updated his Bloodbath III, and Terrain mod (Jolly) until he can get them fully compliant with the new techonoloy, so I took a gander at his mod, and it's there I finally figured it out...

Thanks RebBugler, and Jolly, and I am very happy you got it working apoll.

Have fun, this game is worth the effort. :)

Very happy that is all working out for you apoll, Have fun SOWgb, and their Addon packs will fill more hours than you will be able to count. :)

Note: If you haven't played MP yet I think one day you might want to tiptoe on over to Garnier's Multiplayer site because the single player experience is only half of what this bad boy can do. :woohoo:

Cheers apoll!

I have finally added the Logistics fix to get older graphic mods working in 1.4.

Link: Logistics Fix

Also just to note, you can leave post comments about the mods as well if that is something you like to do.

I didn't update the individual mods themselves because I have a slow connection, and uploading any file larger than 1 meg is just too painful.

Anyway, just thought I would pas this along.
