MP Courier Crashing

MP Courier Crashing
HELLO.
A bunch of us from the Rock Paper Shotgun forums have been playing this for a good while now primarily using HITS and sending couriers to each other, only using the chat when our general avatars are adjacent in game. Since getting Antietam and patch 1.4, our crashes have been through the roof and we're all pretty sure that it is directly related to couriers: often those who don't crash will get the 'waiting for courier message: PLAYER' and whenever we crash it seems as though someone has just sent a courier.
I think this bug used to exist but was fixed in a beta patch and then re-introduced for, I think, 1.3 and made worse for 1.4. Easily 8/10 games are crashing with what seems to be courier related crashes.
A few of us have been saving our logs whenever we crash and I think that Monty (a chap from our group) has been sending them along but just in case here they are: http://szrgta.com/RPSCrashLogs.zip
If you want them in a different format yell in here and I'll upload them.
Is there any progress being made at fixing this? It's really putting a downer on our games since we exclusively play with couriers.

We had a crash in an MP HITS game this afternoon. At the time we assumed it was a poor connection, but I had just sent two messages by courier, so it could have been that. We still had all players stars on screen when it happened.

Hmmm - I had posted a reply to this, but it hasnt appeared form some reason.

I had not heard of this issue, and i dont play MP, but I have checked Norbsofts bug tracking system and it has already been logged as a problem with high priority. Ive added this post to it, and the log files, thanks for getting them.

That's something I forgot to mention, sometimes it will just hang with everyone able to type but mostly it's a hard CTD for one or more people in the game.
It's good to hear it's a high priority issue, I knew that Monty sent along some crash logs but some feedback on the fix is always nice to see.

I had not heard of this issue, and i dont play MP,.
You mean this game has a different style of play OTHER than MP....WOW

Martin and I played an MP game yesterday - transatlantic cable is working fine thank you! - and had no crashes and we were firing off couriers between each other regularly.

MP is brilliant, and you cant beat it, no AI could compare. I just always found it a bit laggy due to my connection speed:)

So, since I used that link and voted there are 7 for primarily MP, 10 for primarily SP and 18 for both. First thought is that I suspect not everyone who's bought the game has voted, eh? Second thought is that MP is much more fun because (1) you can't save the game and try again; (2) replaying the same scenario with the same people ---> different result, because humans learn; (3) human beans (as a good friend of mine used to say) are a trip and do unpredictible things that the AI wouldn't. SP is good for learning the controls and the basic maneuvering of the formations and like that, but if you ain't playin' MP, you're dating yourself.

MP is where its at, although dont think for a second that the AI in SP is easy. It will catch you out ALOT. It's the best AI Ive ever played against.

I agree whole-heartedly about the AI; best ever in any wargame I've played and better than me in many of them. heh
