Personal Experience with 1.4, and 1.3

Post by Michael Slaunwhite »

Well I just finished downloading the latest video drivers for my video card, and the graphics fly in the game, BUT here is the issue.

Now I know that there is already a thread discussing the hills, and valleys with version 1.4, but I have decided to post this since this has something to do with my own personal experince since I have updated my video drivers, and hoping to find out what could be causing me some of the experiencing between these two version.

Now one more thing before I move forward. I really don't care too much about the numbers that so many people seem to be preoccupied with, I go by the feel of the game, how it moves, smoothness, quick responses, etc. I have been playing games for so long I know when something is up, and numbers mean little to me unless I was coding (which I'm not) a game, and working out bugs.

Okay, I started a game (version 1.4), and I have noticed that the troops when they start to receive their orders, and begin to move there is allot of start, and stops (brief, but annoying)like others have been experiencing. So I decided to keep an eye on how often the game accessed the harddrive since I do know that this can cause hiccups (defragging your HD can do allot to relieve this, but in this case it hasn't).

I decided to play the exact same setup with version 1.3, and this game played very nice with no starts, and stops, the game plays really smooth in version 1.3. I have also noticed that the HD is rarely accessed if at all during gameplay.

Anyway, between the version 1.3, and 1.4, FOR ME (only), I prefer running the game version 1.3.

Like I have said, this is what I feel more comfortable with. I believe in the feel of the game, not the numbers at this point in time.

Update: One thing I forgot to mention. I have Game Booster installed, and I ran both versions of the game with, and without.
