A request for blue textures where water resides

Post by Stevedrumsdw »

Is a blue texture for rivers something that could be implemented at some point in the future? :cheer:

I'm sure we all agree that the water textures (or the lack thereof) is a graphic shortcoming of the game, both for GB and Antietam, especially compared to TC2M. However, if you believe the color of the Antietam or the Potomac is blue it could be you've never seen them in person. :P

On a more serious note, I believe NSD addressed this previously and if I remember correctly, they said this would probably not be fixed in GB or Antietam due to the need to do a bunch of new coding. I think they said this would be addressed in the next major release. NSD correct me if I remembered incorrectly.
You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

Yes, it's in the system to be improved. In the subject for the report "Make water better". :)

Yes you are correct about the colors of the Potomic and Antietam not being a pure azure. But they certainly don't look deeply darkish brown, not even at flood stage( and I have seen them both ;) ). Given the grapical limitations of this engine, I just want things to have contrast. That's why I would prefer another color even if it is blue.

Making water better is easy when you get older; the difficulty is making it easier.

Contrast is what I'd be looking for as well. I sometimes sort of mix trails and streams together and this leads to some rather nasty surprises mid-scenario.
