I wish I had the game play of Sow and its AI.Along with the Graphics of Total war.
I completely agree. But it would probably need something like 10 gigs of RAM for it to run smoothly.

With that said, our SOW art team and modding community are second to none. Beautiful work! B)

So is this mod available? If so where? I was looking on the NTW North and South site and I see lots of discussion but no download link. I have NTW. I'd like to see how it compares to SOW.

Only the Demo Video, its out Sept 2012
I am not 100% sure! but I think this mod could just be eye candy

Like I say its the control of the Armies which seem to be hard to get the hang of
Unlike TCM2 and Sow which handle very well indeed :)

It looks lovely but as its the TW engine, the gameplay will be complete rubbish: 20 units a side, no command structure, no set formations, no groundscale and a battlefield the size of your back yard.

In a way its tragic that so many talented artists and modellers and coders waste so much time modding a crock like the TW games. If only NorbSoft could offer a few of them jobs...

Have to agree with you, all those talented artists put to waste on what LOOKED like it was going to be the be all and end of all Sims, badly let down by poor structure, well it would be good to have this mod
even if its only to look at :(

I'm happy with the graphics of SOW as they are, given the tremendous AI and game-play. I'd like to see an easier game editor and/or a way to create an imaginary campaign using the global OOB files that we have or that are added in a latter battle pack, including the ability to make up a different map pack from those available of course, for such a campaign. Without, you understand, having to do a formal 'mod' of the game. Why, you ask? Take a wild guess -- right the first time! I'm having the devil's own time learning how to mod what most likely is a very simple set of changes to the OOB and add a different map. I know one can teach an old dog new tricks, but why does it take so damned long???

I agree that as far as "looks" are concerned the TW MOD is great....but given that I have almost all of the TW titles.....the battles and enemy AI are a sham, any seasoned wargamer can set the AI and Unit sizes on max...and wipe out an enemy army in 15 minutes.

I like the way that their graphics look, but I don't mind the way these graphics look.

Truth be told, I doubt that I'll play this game any more or any less than I do now, if the graphics did look like that!

Even if I were a programmer as good or better than Norb, I really doubt that I could have created a game that is this good, and with the new courier system added in, this game stands alone, at the top of the list.

I've always enjoyed TW games for the visuals and there's not denying that they're the best that money can buy. The AI in NTW isn't half bad either.. What I don't like in TW games is that they're very fast paced and hectic. No time to think, only to sling your mouse around. Also, formations are a pain and the scale of the maps too small.
